My workouts are very intense, but I feel great when I’m done. I have lost about 20 pounds. “I love the gym, and I love using the treadmill and lifting weights. It’s clean and everyone is friendly. I do cardio – elliptical, treadmill and Airdyne. I also do some free weight and core exercises. I work with a trainer three times a week. “There is no reason to not use this benefit that is given to us. It’s right here. In the last eight years, Health Fitness has helped me get back in shape and stay in shape through lifestyle changes and accountability with the great staff who work there.”

Brittany Scott, CNA, Klein Center“I began going to Health Fitness in January 2019, because I wanted to lose weight and improve my health. My workouts are very intense, but I feel great when I’m done. I have lost about 20 pounds.

“I love the gym, and I love using the treadmill and lifting weights. It’s clean and everyone is friendly. It’s a nice, quiet place to clear my mind.”

Jan Keitzer, RN, Family Medicine“I go to the gym for the health benefits and to destress before and during my workday.

Tyler: “We spend our lunch walking around the track to get a little exer-cising in before going back to work. The gym allows easy access to main-tain a healthier lifestyle.”

Christopher: “I work out a couple of days a week after work. This a great benefit, I haven’t had anything close with any of my previous employers.”

Acer: ”It allows as us to keep exercising when the weather prevents us from doing our walk outside.”

Blake: “I have made some good friends and continue to meet people that I wouldn’t have met if not for the Wellness Gym. Having the gym on site makes it very easy to work out before or after work. I lift weights, and run or walk if weather does not permit being outside.”

Sam: “I have noticed a reduced level of stress and better focus when taking time out of the workday to get up and move for 15 to 30 minutes. I feel better overall because I have a job that is very sedentary.”

Matt Wenzel, President and CEO“Going to the gym has become a habit for me. If I don’t go, I feel lethargic. It’s a great way to start my day, and manage the stress of the job and life. Health Fitness is clean, our equipment is up to date and we have great employees who are helpful. I also appreciate our personal trainers who will design a plan and then help push you to achieve your goals. Health Fitness is a great benefit for our employees and the community.

Michael AbouAssaly, MD, Family Medicine, Mercy

“I love the variety of instructors. It is great that our gym is located in a hospital. There is access to health care right here. Orthopaedics, physical therapy, occupational therapy, cardiovascular rehabilita-tion and pulmonary rehabilitation are all within walking distance of the Wellness Gym. Health Fitness does a great job of working with different populations, including disease-specific programs.”
