June 2019

Farewell Greetings

I have been struggling to put into words the wide range of thoughts and emotions Diane and I are having as we prepare for the next chapter of our lives.

As I reflect on the past 26 years, I am extremely grateful for having had the opportunity to love all of you and to be loved by all of you.

Unless I spend the next 26 years in Forked River and live to be 93 years old, living in Milltown and being your Pastor will be the longest place that I will have lived and pastored.

THANK YOU!

I offer you the 7 keys to life that I have used to challenge myself.# 1. God First# 2. Love One another # 3. Never Hate# 4. Give Generously# 5. Live Simply# 6. Forgive Quickly# 7. Be Kind Always

I also offer you the key lessons that I have learned in my 43 years of ministry and life are: • Every day holds things that you can be

excited about and some things you will not be excited about.

• In your own strength, you will fall desperately short of all that is expected of you.

• The only One you have to please is God.

• Season every interaction with grace and purpose.

• Surrender every day, every agenda and every plan into God’s Hands.

I offer you a prayer to pray each day. I believe it is a prayer that was offered by Mother Teresa.

Dear Jesus,Help me to spread Your fragrance wherever I go.Flood my soul with Your Spirit and life.Penetrate and possess my whole being so utterly, that my life may only be a radiance of Yours.Shine through me, and be so in methat every soul I come in contact withmay feel Your presence in my soul.Let others see not me, but only Jesus!Stay with me and then I will begin to shine as You shine, so to shine as to be a light to others. The light, O Jesus, will be all from You; none of it will be mine.It will be You, shining on others through me.Let me praise You in the way which You love best.Let me preach You without preaching, not by words but by my example.Amen.

Godspeed

Pastor Rich

PRAYER of the MONTHWe give our thanks, Creator God, for the fathers in our lives. Fatherhood does not come with a manual, and reality teaches us that some fathers excel while others fail.We ask for Your blessings for them all – and forgiveness where it is needed. We remember the many sacrifices fathers make for their children and families, and the ways – both big and small – they lift children to achieve dreams thought beyond reach. We remember all those who have helped fill the void when fathers pass early or are absent – grandfathers and uncles, brothers and cousins, teachers, pastors and coaches – and the women of our families. For those who are fathers, we ask for wisdom and humility in the face of the task of parenting. Give them the strength to do well by their children and by You.

Paley, Pastor RichMeeting called to order at 7:38pm by Pastor Rich who opened with a devotion from Psalm 31:5 – “Into your hands I commit my spirit; deliver me, Lord, my faithful God.” David believed that the Lord could be trusted even when life got bumpy. In the midst of uncertainty, we can breathe sighs of relief and rejoice because our faithful, loving God is our source of confidence. Those who are secure in the Lord are in amazing hands.

consistory; motioned by Greg R./seconded by John G.

Finances- We have a deficit of $5,757.51 for April and a YTD loss of $17,616.38.
