PROGRAM EDUCATIONAL OBJECTIVES:

PEO1: Acquire strong foundation in the mathematical, scientific and engineering fundamentals necessary to formulate, solve and analyze engineering-problems.

PEO2: Develop the ability to analyze the requirements of the software, understand the technical specifications, design and provide novel engineering solutions and efficient software/hardware designs.

PROGRAM SPECIFIC OUTCOMES

PSO1: Foundation of mathematical concepts: To use mathematical methodologies to crack problem using suitable mathematical analysis, data structure and suitable algorithm.

PSO2: Foundation of Computer System: the ability to interpret the fundamental concepts and methodology of computer systems. Students can understand the functionality of hardware and software aspects of computer systems. PSO3: Foundations of Software development: the ability to grasp the software development lifecycle and methodologies of software systems. Possess competent skills and knowledge of software design process. Familiarity and practical proficiency with a broad area of programming concepts and provide new ideas and innovations towards research



TECHNICAL TALK

As a part of Infosys c ampus connect, a technical seminar on “Applications of Machine Learning and Basics of Statistics” held on 05.10.2018 at MBA Seminar Hall from 9.30 a.m. to 12.45 p.m. Ms. Gajalakshmi, Consultant, Data and Analytics, Infosys Ltd. and also alumni of our college delivered the lecture. Faculty and Students of Computer Science and Engineering and Information Technology attended the lecture.

The talk focused on introducing the concepts of Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence, Data Analytics and its application to the students. It also focused on encouraging the students to do project related to this domain. The lecture followed by interactive session, in that how machine learning and deep learning algorithms are used in order to help organizations to understand their customers and finally create their products and services for their customer needs.



STUDENTS ACHIEVEMENTS

Final year CSE students (R.SharanaFathima, K.PadmaPooja and R.Samyutha ) project has been selected under the topic “Sustainable Smart Society” for the final round of ACM 3 rd

National level Hackathon organized by ACM-W at IIM- Ahmadabad.

R.Balaji of final year CSE has participated in Zoho Cliqtrix- App development competition and presented his app in Zoho Office, Chennai on 29-Oct 2018 and won 2nd prize worth Rs 50,000. He has been provided with internship offer at Zoho, with stipend of Rs.15, 000 per month, as well as placement offer from Zoho



G.R.Thayalan and P.K.Ambarish of III year has been selected for an Internship with a stipend of Rs10,000/- per month for two months at ITC –Infotech , Bangalore.

ALUMNI MEET

The department of Computer Science and Engineering organized “Alumni Meet 2018”on 17th November 2018. 23 Alumni students of 2002 & 2003 batches participated in the meet. A former member of faculty of our college of the alumni students Dr. V. Suresh Kumar, Principal,Ammini College of Engineering, Kerala also participated in the meet.

Dr. S.A. Sahaaya Arul Mary, HoD/CSE, welcomed the gathering. Principal, Dr.D.Valavan felicitated. During his felicitation, the Principal mentionedthe changes in academic programs. He asked the alumni members for the changes to beincorporated in college environment for the benefit of students.

Then, Dr. V. Suresh Kumar, addressed the gathering and shared his old experience with alumni members. He also appreciated the current updates of the Principal. He shared how Saranathan College of Engineering nurtured him.

Alumni Mr. M.N.Karthikeyan, the main force in organizing the alumni meet assured that they can fulfill the students’ requirements. He discussed with the alumni members and decided thefollowing.

FACULTY ACHIEVEMENTS

Dr.S.A.SahaayaArulMary and Ms.R.SenthamilSelvi has received a cash award from the college management for the participating in the final round of ACM 3rd National level Hackathon organized by ACM-W at IIM- Ahmadabad.

Dr.S.A.SahaayaArulMary, Ms.N.Kavitha, Mr.M.Anbazhagan,Ms.K.Mohanapriya, Mr.R.Mohankumar, Mr.P.Dineshkumar and Ms.R.LavanyaBai received a cash award from the college management in the self appraisal meeting held on 19.10.2018.

FACULTY PARTICIPATION

Mr.R.Mohankumar has participated in TEQIP III sponsored Two days workshop on “Festival of learning Internet of Things – Cloud” organized by Department of Information Technology at Thiagarajar College of Engineering, on 15th & 16th November 2018.



• Ms.K.Mohanapriya has participated in 5 days of FDP sponsored by ICT academy on “Hadoop-Horton Networks” organized at Periyar Maniammai University, from 11th to 15th December 2018.

• Ms.R.Sharanya has participated in Two days FDP on “DataScience/ Analytics with Python ad its Applications” organized by Be Positive Institute for Skilling Pvt Limited ,Trichy on 14th & 15th December 2018.



WORKSHOPS ORGANIZED

TARGET’S ACHIEVED

On the pooled campus drive conducted by Infosys on Oct 1st & 2nd , 30 students of CSE got placed in Infosys with a paid Internship

10 students from CSE got placed in Tata Consultancy Services, as an Assistant System Engineer through Off-Campus
