Task 1: Reading speed and questioning: Make sure you are reading daily on your Reading Plus.
Now that the weather is nice, make sure you are using some time to sit and read in sunshine. Although we cannot go out to different places, reading is able to transport us to wherever our imagination takes us.
Task 2: Reading for pleasure: Draw and label your favourite character from a book you have read this week and label with descriptive words/phrases from the text. Why not warm up by trying some of the ‘draw-a-long’ workshops?

ANSWERS from last week:
Task 1: Division answers
Task 2:
1. True. 131 divided by 11 is 12. You should know that 11 goes into 131, 12 times. The inverse is 11 x 12 = 131. Knowing my multiplication facts would help me work this out.
2. False. 300 divided by 9 = 33.3 (33r3). It is not equally divisible.3. 12 divided by 84 does not equal 7. The mistake is that they have written the
numbers the wrong way around. You must divide the larger number by the smaller number. You would need to say that 84 divided by 12 equals 7.

This week's focus: shading
Task = Add shading to an illustration of an animal.
We are going to build on this skill by adding shading to an illustration of an animal.
Watch the video tutorial below. During the tutorial, you will learn how to draw an elephant and how to add in the shading detail. Here you will be able to apply the skills you have practised over the last couple of weeks.
