A small Shoebox can have a big impact! What goes into
the box is fun, but what comes out of it is eternal. Be a
part of changing children's lives all over the world in
Jesus' name through the power of a simple gift with
Operation Christmas Child. Now is a good time to shop
for items to go into our shoeboxes that our children here
at Epworth will get to take part in filling! The excitement
from the kids who participated in our "Packing Party" last
year was overwhelming! Please begin gathering items
that you would like to contribute to this special minis-
try. We will have boxes available to pack or you may
pack your own and bring it to the church.
Fall is here
and that
means it is
time for
Room in the Inn. We
provide three meals,
fellowship and a place
sleep for 12 homeless
men every 2nd & 4th
Thursday, November
through March. You
can participate by
being an innkeeper,
providing or preparing
food, doing the
laundry, sharing a
devotional or driving
the bus. See Connie
Puryear to sign up.

Holiday Extravaganza on October 22
The Chancel Choir is sponsoring a Holiday Extravaganza on Saturday, October 22 from 9:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. in Vaden Hall featuring numerous vendors with amazing holiday items for sale, musical entertainment, hamburgers, hot dogs, baked goods and MORE! Come and support mem-bers of our Chancel Choir as they raise funds to help with expenses as they share God's love through music in Italy and Greece in July of 2017. Any church members who wish to make items available may set up a booth/table at a discounted rate. Please contact Laurie Evans (615-354-3906) for information.
Kairos Prison Ministry weekends will be at the women's prison October 27-30 and at the men's prison November 10-13. Our own Rev. Jesse Fleck will be the Spiritual Advisor for the women. Karel Snoek and Ken Graves will participate in the men's weekend. The children and Tweens will also be coloring place mats that will be used for the meals during the week-ends. Our role is to lift up the leaders and participants in prayer. One tangible way that we can show our support is to help make the paper prayer chain. Karel has placed strips of construction paper in each Sunday School class room. Please take a minute to write a verse, prayer, a word of encouragement or just your name on these strips. Karel will collect them and they will be put to-gether in a long chain that will encircle the room where the prisoners meet. This is a powerful representation to the prisoners that the body of Christ loves and cares for them. Contact Karel Snoek if you have questions or want more information. ([email protected] or 615- 295-1634)
What a beautiful and moving Holding Cross service we had on September 18 ! Thanks to Kirsten Tucker, Mike Thomas, Chris Adair and Jon Rogers for the inspiring music and to Robbie Tucker for organizing it all. If you give away your holding cross and need another, there are baskets of crosses in the new site Narthex and in the Historic site parlor. If these supplies run low, let Robbie Tucker or Janie Jefferson know. The purpose of the crosses is to bring hope and peace to the holder, and they are meant to be shared.

Many thanks to Bruce and Marianne Richards for the wonderful job they continue to do
in keeping Epworth's landscaping looking good! When you see them, be sure to share
your appreciation for the pretty gardens and landscape areas at both church buildings.

We have supported the House of Hope in Santiago, Chile, for several years. This ministry has moved beyond providing a Christian home for college aged girls. They now provide after school classes and tutoring for underprivileged children in the La Pintana community. Many young children have come to accept Christ through this ministry. There will be a team going there this month. Please lift them up in prayer. If you would like to go, there will be another trip in February 2017. Contact Cindy Kurzrock for details. ([email protected])
Feeding Under The Bridge takes place every third Friday night and this month it will be October 21. Meet in the Bargain Hunt parking lot on Murfreesboro Road at 5:00 p.m. to carpool or meet under the Jefferson Street Bridge in Nashville at 6:00 p.m.. You'll be on your way home by 7:00 p.m. It doesn't take much time to share a little love. Thanks for all the donations of canned meat for Graceworks! Your generosity will help feed our hungry neighbors right here in Williamson County.
