CARE SUMMER BRIDGE PROGRAM Every year, CARE invites student organizations to participate by offering the opportunity to host an event(s). This year, approximately 350 new students are expected to participate in the program. If your organization is interested in hosting an event or would like an event placed on the CARE Involvement calendar, please complete this link. Upon receipt of everyone's proposed events, CARE will finalize their summer calendar and inform all organizations of approved events. Be advised that proposed events should be constructive and geared towards helping first-year students acclimate to campus life. Events should be educational or cultural in nature, and will be held to appropriate standards. The proposals need to be completed and returned by May 15, 2015. In addition, on June 20, 2015 the CARE students will begin moving into residence halls. In the past, there was support from student organizations in welcoming the students by helping with move-in activities and offering support. CARE asks all student organizations that wish to participate in this effort to sign up for a time slot, 9:00am – 11:00am, 11:00am – 1:00pm, or 1:00pm – 3:00pm. BIG BROTHERS BIG SISTERS Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Big Bend is a donor-supported, volunteer organization. Each year, they reach out to the community requesting help to fund the creation and support of 350+ mentoring relationships benefiting youth facing poverty, exposure to abuse, violence, drugs and crime, poor academic performance, or parental incarceration. They are holding their annual Bowl For Kids’ Sake event in May of this year. However, this event is not really about bowling. Currently, they are looking for organizations who want more Big Bend youth to achieve success in school and life. How can you get involved? By getting together a team of 5-6 players and together raising at least $500. This gives each team the opportunity to bowl in the Community Day Bowls event on Saturday, May 16. There are informational meetings about how your organization can become involved. ORGANIC AMERICANA
The 2015 Organic Americana will be held Saturday, May 16 at Orchard Pond Organic Farm. This outdoor event will be held under a grove of oak trees nestled between the vegetable and the strawberry fields. MOTICELLO OLD JAIL MUSEUM The Monticello Old Jail is looking for a volunteer to keep the museum open on Wednesdays from 10:00am to 2:00pm. GRILLED FOOD FESTIVAL

JDRF ONE WALK TALLAHASSEE
Please join in making the 2015 JDRF One Walk a huge success by volunteering just a few hours of your time. The Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF) is in need of volunteers to assist with various job duties on walk day including walk route, water stations, activities area, food tent, and more. BRIDGE EDUCATION ABORAD INSTITUTE
Bridge Education Abroad Institute (BEAI) plans short programs all across the world, to provide students with unique opportunities to experience different
political cultures while strengthening their leadership and diplomacy skills. In a rapidly globalizing world, they believe these experiences are invaluable to the success of students in the global job market. For the summer of 2015, they have a program scheduled in Dublin, Ireland and San Jose, Costa Rica during June, July, and August. This program will include lectures from experienced professors and guest speakers from around the globe, including the United States of America. The students will enrich their knowledge of Costa Rica & Ireland’s history, international politics, and economics while also enjoying travel to famous and historic places. GLOBAL LEADERSHIP PROGRAM 2015 Two $1,500 scholarships are available to FSU undergraduate students interested in leadership and social impact/entrepreneurship to participate in one of Leadership ExCHANGE's four-week Global Leadership Programs for Summer (July) 2015 in one of the following locations: • Prague, Czech Republic • Rome, Italy • Raleigh, North Carolina Leadership ExCHANGE is a partner of FSU's Interdisciplinary Social Sciences (ISS) Social Entrepreneurship & Innovation (SEI) Specialization.
