Q&A with EMMAEMMA answers questions about her life, experiences, and good memories

Which words describe your personality? Energetic, goofy, bubbly, diplomatic and witty.

Describe your strong sides: I am extremely independent, ambitious and am able to bal-ance that with a very happy-go-lucky attitude. I look for the best in people in almost every situation, and I try my best to express gratitude and appreciation for the people I love on a daily basis.

Describe your weak sides: I tend to be very impatient and expect a lot from others, with-out allowing them much room for error. As I have aged, I have become much more aware of this—I believe it’s due to my own inner fear of failure and projecting that onto others if they don’t reach my standards. I am learning that everyone is dif-ferent, and after having my daughter, my patience level has grown, so at times when I find myself becoming impatient with people I mentally check myself and try my best to practice patience.

What is your marital status? In a relationship.

Do you have any children? Yes, my beautiful daughter is three years and four months old. She is 40 inches tall and weighs 35 pounds. She has curly light brown hair with blond undertones. Her eyes are green and really big! She is very curious and has a love and kindness for animals that can make your heart melt. She is on track and above average on all of her development mile-stones, and has even started memorizing books and “reading” them to me. She has no medical issues. She is a picky eater and sometimes has trouble falling asleep at night.

Which types of sport do you play or have played? Basketball, softball, golf, swimming, flag football and tennis.

Which other types of sports are you interested in? All of the sports listed above.

List any other hobbies you may have or have had:Surfing and playing poker are two of my favorite hobbies!

List which musical instruments you play or have played: Clarinet.

Religion:Catholic.

How many hours of sleep do you get on an average night?7.

Do you eat healthy?Always.

Do you smoke?No.

Do you ride a bicycle?Sometimes.

How much alcohol do you drink on average per week?2-3 drinks.

Which countries have you visited:Bahamas, Canada, Cayman Islands, Colombia, Costa Rica, Greece, Italy, Jamaica, Mexico, Turkey, United States.

Describe the best holiday you have had: I have had the opportunity in my life to travel with my family and on my own quite a bit. There are so many memories to choose from, but since I have to pick one, I would say the year my mother, father, sister, brother and I took a Caribbean cruise over the Thanksgiving holiday week. It was so great to be together for an entire week, enjoying lovely weather and delicious meals as a family, without the stress of traveling to different family members’ homes or cooking at home! We were able to snorkel, play in the casino and relax together as a family, which is a memory I will always cherish.

What do you like the most about your own country:I am a lawyer, so one of the things I like the most about the United States is our constitution and our judicial process—in-cluding trial by jury. It is truly the only anchor ever yet imag-ined to which a government can be held accountable to the principles of its constitution. I really love the diversity of my country, not just in terms of people, but also in terms of differ-ent regions and landscapes.

Who are your idols/heroes/heroines? My idols, heroes and heroines are everyday people who are kind and generous. This includes the volunteers at the shelter where I adopted my pet cats, who take care of helpless inno-cent animals everyday. Also, the volunteers and workers who put their lives on the line to protect and save children from being trafficked. Anyone who puts kindness at the forefront of their lives, and uses that kindness to make another person’s life better is someone I look up to and strive to be like.

What are your goals in life? My goal in life is to be happy. I used to be very career-ori-ented, but once I had my daughter, my perspective changed. Now, all I want to do is spend time with the people I love most and create happy memories together.

What were your childhood dreams:I wanted to be the President and to travel the world.

Which values do you rank the highest?Quality time with family and friends, healthy diet and exercise, and gratitude.

Which childhood experience made the biggest impres-sion on you? When I was 14 years old, my family moved across the country. This experience made a lasting impression on me, because I went from feeling excluded by my peers to feeling included by them. My new school was much more diverse, and I was able to make connections and build relationships with all different types of kids. To this day, I believe that this experience helped shape my personality, and I now feel comfortable and able to approach people from any background.

Which was your greatest experience or moment? Learning that I had passed the Bar and could practice law.

Happiest: Becoming a mother.

Funniest: Everyday of 10th grade with my best friend.

Scariest: Studying, taking and then waiting for bar results.

Proudest: Selecting my first jury.
