Message from the CEO
Twenty years from now you will be more
disappointed by the things that you didn’t
do than by the ones you did do. So throw
off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe
harbour. Catch the trade winds in your
sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.

So far 2011 has proved to be a busy year, with many
initiatives already underway. I recently visited Alabama in
the United States, primarily accompanying my husband
who presented at a conference and also visiting Crestwood
Medical Centre to observe and learn from their successful
patient rounding program.

Our most important feast day of St John of God was celebrated with a range of activities. The focus this year was entering into the spirit of John’s compassionate service just as he entered through Elvira Gate in Granada, Spain to begin his amazing gift of compassion and serving the mentally ill, the sick and the vulnerable.
The Hospital’s annual Patient Satisfaction Survey took place from 31st January – 27th March and patients received a feedback form on their return home from Hospital.

Taking a vitamin and mineral supplement has become
a regular activity for many Australians. It seems people
fear they may not be getting the nutrients they need from
the food they eat, however, it has been reported by the
Australian Institute of Health and Welfare (AIHW) that
Australians are consuming foods that supply nutrients
equivalent to or even higher than the recommended
dietary intakes.
