It’s been the Leatherneck way to do more with less.

do more with more.

but the time has come to Want to see your Leathernecks, be more, do more, succeed more?

JOIN THE CLUB. At Western Illinois University, we’ve traditionally out-performed our resources.

We’re scrappy and resourceful—and proud of it. But this mode of operation has kept us from reaching our fullest potential.

As a Leatherneck Club member, your tax-deductible contribution will help supplement income from state funding and

student fees to provide much-needed scholarships, equipment, support and training for Leatherneck Athletics.

In short, it helps strengthen recruiting and narrows the gap between us and the competition.

The Leatherneck Nation has excellent student-athletes, passionate fans and generous

supporters—but we’ve only scratched the surface of what we can become. Let’s see what

more we can do when we stand together. Join the Leatherneck Club today.

If we can do all this with less ...

For the fourth consecutive semester, Western Illinois student-athletes turned in a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher and a 77% Graduation Success Rate (GSR).

Twenty-five student-athletes earned a 4.0 GPA, 97 earned University Honors posting a 3.6 GPA and 212 (53.7%), earned a 3.0 or above. Leatherneck student-athletes again surpassed the University’s cumulative GPA for the Fall semester.

Western Illinois had three student-athletes named to the COSIDA/ESPN Academic All-District Team last fall: football’s Kyle Glazier (First Team Academic All-America) along with Jenny Green and Caitlin Barrett from women’s soccer.

In the Winter and Spring of 2010, 124 student-athletes earned Academic All-Summit League, while 50 earned All-league Academic honors in the Fall of 2010.

Student-athletes combined to volunteer 2,950 hours of community service

in 2009-10, including the popular Rocky’s Reach, where student-athletes

visit local elementary school classrooms on a weekly basis to read, play and interact with community school children.

... imagine what we’d do with more.

WIU’S ATHLETICS OPERATING BUDGET for 2010-11 was just under $10 million — that’s significantly less than what most other Missouri Valley Football Conference and Summit League schools are spending on comparable programs. To make matters worse, state allocations are declining, and income from self-generated sources — such as membership in our booster club — is also lagging behind the competition. In short, our student athletes have never needed you more.

It’s timeto rally.
