Before anything start, I just wanted to say Thank You to everyone

who contributed and enjoyed the magazine. Your support is the biggest

motivation for me and the team to make sure WestFASHION

MAGAZINE continues.

Many of you may know how much it costs to produce each copy, but

for those of you who just joined us this issue, it costs more than £9 per copy.

That does sound like a huge amount of money but I have paid all of this

because I understand that at the end of the day the result would gives me

far greater rewards other than money, also maybe investors or even more.

To make our life (mine especially) easier, we have decided to release this

issue (odds) in PDF format instead of the ACTUAL.

This issue has been named as mini-mag but I think you could kinda

guessed that it won’t have as many pages as the last issue, but still I can

promise you even though it is thiner but the quality has stayed the same. I

am sure after you have read this, you will look fabulous and will have saved

money by not buying non-essentials.

Summer – Beach, Sunglasses, Shorts, Bikinis, N*ked, Tan,

Bodybuilders, Skinnies, Sun, Brownies, Holiday, Hot, Sweat, See-Through,

Blinky, Yello, Red, Light, Soft, Easy, White, and Grey.

That’s the key. What is it mean? Figure it out yourself!

Mix & Match it, Create Own Style(s), Show the hidden package off to

everyone. It’s TIME.

scheduled, the show will feature within WFemme section and for more, go to our MYSPACE Blog.

If you have read the previous page, we have a new partner: Red Bubble Media. Starting

from this issue, RBM Page will be featured as for them to promote their new programmes, but also

introduce themselves. Here it is:-

Red Bubble Media was founded by Charlotte Phillips

and Joe Irwin (Shown in picture) in September 2007. After internal

staff problems at Malarkey, Charlotte and Joe set out to make a new media

company called Red Bubble Media.

Ok, so what is Red Bubble Media? Well, Red Bubble Media is

basically a film production company ran completely by teenagers, we make

films and show them free of charge on the internet. We mainly focus on

comedy films such as our new sketch show basically called 'Sketch it' but

like any other production company we are capable of creating more films of

different genres.

In coming future, we will have a new weekly radio show called

J-Squared starring our very own Jess Wilkinson and Joe Irwin .The show is a

comedy show where based on a topic and discuss for an hour (with music

half way through which is under negotiation) but the twist is that in each

show, six quotes are hidden within the show, who could remember the

most and at the end of each month, we will announce the winner.

We don't have many staff but are growing with more people wanting to join Red Bubble, all of our staff act in

the shows, even the technical guys. Our main initiative of the company is to show people that teenagers can do

something fun and practical with their time instead of being cooped up indoors or hanging out on street corners which is

the usual stereotype.

We also just like to show people that fun comes in many different shapes and sizes, such as making and

acting in films. We do have a lot of fun producing the films we make right the way through from planning to presenting.

Our staffs include:

Charlotte Phillips, Joe Irwin, Carmen Sole, Jess Wilkinson, Elliott Gledhill, Lee Jarratt, Alex Hurren

All of our staff with their unique sense of humour, from witty remarks to full on comical jokes accompanied

with the list of staff growing, there's no awkwardness for sure to the comedy we can produce as well as serious material.

We have also gained another company as a partner called WestFASHION Magazine, this should hopefully

mean that both companies gain the same amount of attention from the nations. With both companies working around

the clock, a fantastic media range sure fulfils your entertainment pleasure.

The latest developments from Red Bubble Media are the Red Bubble Golden Area which users can sign up to

and gain exclusives from Red Bubble. Also the Red Bubble Games which is a new games website where people can play

games online for free as well as write your own reviews and rate the games.

How Do We Do It? Interest in the procedure that we need to go through to plan a photography trip, and how

do our E-I-C make it happen? Here is a section of photos that taken from our Fashion Editor while

Harry is taking photoshoot with the models in Brighton.

As we run the magazine with the lowest cost conditions, we used lots of different

environments to produce our photos instead of studios (even though we understand using a studio

could be better than a real environment).

Our first photography trip is to Brighton, as one of us suggests the walls (above) create a

unique environment for summer’s colourful and fun feelings. We were all very glad that it all went

very well as it was on a Sunday and it was quite near town which meant that lots of people were

walking past the streets that we took the photos on. Somehow embarrassing but somehow not.

<P.07777> WFMag.

Page 11: WFM Issue 3

Other than still pictures, E-I-C took the inspiration of action pictures, and told the models to

walk up and down the streets. It’s hard as all 5 of them have different outfits and different walking

speed.

But still, a few outstanding action photos taken on the day.

Want more embarrassing pictures of us?

Make your way to our MYSPACE albums

section, you will find more than few dozen

of outtakes photos and lots of other

photoshoot.

As if you forgot, here is a reminder of all the trends in this season.

Summer 2008Summer 2008Summer 2008Summer 2008

BLOCKED BLINK:

It’s time to choose the colour of the day.

Match a set of accessories with your clothes

or anything.

TRY THIS:

Get a polo-shirt with a collar in different colour to

the shirt. Match the collar’s colour to a belt. Pair it

up with light trousers or shorts (or dark as long as it

contrasts with the colour of your shirt).*Remember

that the colour should not match with your main

top or bottoms*

FORMAL DINNING:

Fancy getting out of uniform straight-after

school? Stock some leisure elements like

flip-flops, scarves and blink belt.

TRY THIS:

Go and look for those trousers that have specific

cuttings (straight fit/slim fit/skinny fit) and get

yourself a pair sharp shoes (formal/leisure) to make

up the look *Remember to stock yourself a belt as

well, and try avoid black if possible*

<P.09999> WFMag.

Page 13: WFM Issue 3

LIGHT & SOFTEN:

If block blink stuff doesn’t suit you, try light

& soften. By wearing lighter fabrics with

lighter colours, it allows you to create you

own unique look. Match with other

accessories as well, such as bags or

sunglasses. Suitable for the beach.

TRY THIS:

Try to stock some lighter coloured clothing and

maybe a suitable size (not too big, not too skinny)

within your wardrobe. Match it with its original

blocked colour; Add similar colour cardigan, or

darker colour shorts.

EDGE + ZIPPERS:

Zippers are frequently used within this

season’s jacket. Unusual cuttings make the

outfit more energetic but also very

slim-fitting and accompanied with shirt and

striped tie, and skinny silver belts. Sure

Burberry don’t quite like matching colour

this season, waist belt is firstly introduce

within menswear industry, but still the

outfit look stunning.

TRY THIS:

Clash Colours instead of matching them (even

though one of the trends is matching then but still…)

or bright up the outfit by adding bright clothing or

accessories such as sunglasses or bags.

So……… What else?!

not mainstream.

WestFASHION MAGAZINE is a magazine that reaches a wide range of readers from teenagers to current

models and fashion students. Don’t miss the chance to advertise with us, no matter what it’s for - your store

or your un-wanted clothing, sure it will be feature next issue and be seen by hundreds.

Alexander McQueenAlexander McQueenAlexander McQueenAlexander McQueen His collection always works with everything making it perfect for the summer wardrobe: part

freewheeling hippy, part surfer and part rebel – albeit with a cause to effortlessly dress up or down

as the wave takes him.

<P.013131313> WFMag.

Page 17: WFM Issue 3

Bottega VenetBottega VenetBottega VenetBottega Venetaaaa After a little grey-ish collection, more azure and other interesting colours, such pink, are

in for the summer. Golden Suit is also another favourite of the show. Formally Sexy seems like the

dress-code for the summer.

<P.014141414> WFMag.

Page 18: WFM Issue 3

Calvin KleinCalvin KleinCalvin KleinCalvin Klein What can we say about Calvin Klein SS2008 in summer? Trading from its autumn seasonal

palette like yellow and brown to a softer colour; Sheer fabrics used more often accompanied with

lighter colours to create soft layers but also edgy. All designs reduced to their purest form, but still

keep its elegance and the one everyone wants.

<P.015151515> WFMag.

Page 19: WFM Issue 3

Dolce & GabbanaDolce & GabbanaDolce & GabbanaDolce & Gabbana Although it’s summer, but scarf-fever is still on, and more and more block colour

combination appears to be more seductive. While the trouser designs loosen up bit, the upper part

has never gone tighter accompanied with scarf, surely summer-breeze is the inspiration. But still,

how can we miss out the underwear models? Ready for the beach?

<P.016161616> WFMag.

Page 20: WFM Issue 3

DSquared2DSquared2DSquared2DSquared2 As you can see, more and more bright colours added with less and less layers of clothing.

It’s just a very stand-out design with a normal summer design guideline. Compare to its spring

designs, it went more similar and pure (other than less layers) but it show a simple soft contrast

which makes an attractive look as well as banging colours together like Black/white. How brilliant,

so girls, are you looking at the clothes or the pecks?

<P.017171717> WFMag.

Page 21: WFM Issue 3

GucciGucciGucciGucci WHERE GOOD BOY GONE BAD

With sharper cutting, and more chopped edge, better sex-appeal actually could be

expected from the brand. Motorcycle pants in traditional fabrics and leather, or brightly coloured

jeans, were youthful and chic at the same time.

<P.018181818> WFMag.

Page 22: WFM Issue 3

Roberto CavalliRoberto CavalliRoberto CavalliRoberto Cavalli This season, Roberto carries the leather hit to the spring collection, as more skinny

leather trousers, and more intelligent design. By adding little bit of clashing accessories make the

whole outfit look rather better than matching colour.

<P.011119999> WFMag.

Page 23: WFM Issue 3

VersaceVersaceVersaceVersace An occasional (but judicious) stab of red; different colour transformation through

clothing; see-through black knit; while silk sleeveless shirt have made this collection more

glamorous than ever.

H Collections SS08 – From the beginning… While our Editor-In-Chief invest his

best in the magazine, he also invest a lot of

time, work, and money to make his dream

come true – having his own fashion show.

Luckily, the chance came around

December, when the news of the Oriental

Evening scheduled in March, Harry (our E-I-C)

and two other WFemme members put on an

audition for those who were interested to

model his own collection.

In the first audition, 60 people came

along with confidence and fight to have this

experience and join the show. Harry saw

there might be some more people around

wanting to join as well, so 2nd

audition was

scheduled 5 days later.

40 more came, which means 100 in

total wanted to get into the show. After

discussions with other staff, less than 15

made through.

Then 2008 came around. While Harry

tries to finish his collection off, the others try

finishing their exams off as soon as possible.

Consequently, there was never a chance to

rehearse until the day. The day before –

Friday, while one of the school houses are

having their formal dinner, Harry, himself,

starts setting up backstage, lighting, walking

schedule, and outfits.

On the day, he skipped his lunch

and went straight to the venue, to start

preparing the runway and other preparations.

Suffering from the fact that the models

haven’t arrived on time, Harry and other

make-up stylist started to discuss about the

themes and make sure they are sure what the

theme is within the collection.

<P.021212121> WFMag.

Page 25: WFM Issue 3

The evening scheduled to start at 7:30, and

fashion show scheduled at 7:45. One hour before –

6:45, backstage is just as rush as those real fashion

shows. Hair Straightener; Outfit fittings; Make-up;

Schedules; Lighting; Music; and everything you could

think about in a show came across in the last hour, for

sure Harry was so stressed within that hour.

Entrance opened at 7:10. Within 10 minutes,

all 100 seats been filled. After entrance closed at 7:30,

130+ peoples entered the hall ready to be entertained

by a new completely new concept of Oriental Evening,

as the past years, it took place within a big gym while

everything happened within, but this time, there are

entertainment hall, dinning hall and Irish Bar.

The evening started 10 minutes later than

planned. Some instrument performers played before

the fashion show. After the instrumental, “Feedback”

by Janet Jackson starts playing while the hall blacked out. Once the song starts “Light Skin, Dark Skin,

My Asian Persuasion…” the show walked down with H Spotlight Collection. The collection consists of

3 dresses made by Harry.

<P.022222222> WFMag.

Page 26: WFM Issue 3

After H Spotlight, the show carries on with more diversity than ever, with H ClubHouse, H

Beachwear, H Original, H Mix Cultural.

<P.023232323> WFMag.

Page 27: WFM Issue 3

So what do people think about the show??

“Best fashion show ever in St Bede’s History”

“It’s very nice to see a big range of models is used, as the size zero-zero is the zero.”

“I have never been jealous before, but tonight was the night I got jealous all night.”

“This has been the most professional fashion show ever seen, and been directed by one of the

youngest upper fifth in the school, it’s just amazing.”

“Everything just perfect – music, clothes, even cat-walk.”

For the first time ever in 10 years of running the Oriental Evening is being featured in the

school news area. Our editor-in-chief is bliss that he has been called the new McQueen, and helped

Oriental Evening became headline news within the school and was embarrassed about being in the

articles with the thumb up.

Anyway the night was amazing, and we all hope (even himself) H Collection will continue

with more diversity range, and models, but who know what going to happen as he is leaving the

school, which mean next year Oriental Evening maybe not as good without him.
