Need a weekend getaway to relax and get your craft on? Want to meet new people while learning newcrafty tips and techniques?

Join us for 3 full days of crafting and classes, friends and fun with some games, prizes and more, all whileenjoying a weekend away in sunny Orlando, Florida. This retreat is hosted by Denise Lynn, owner of Whimsy

Stamps, with classes taught by our talented Whimsy artists and designers.

TutorialUsing scrap pieces of desginer papers to create adorable gift tags.


Tracy has made 3 very simple tags using scraps of paper she hadleft over from creating other cards. She loves the new paper padsfrom Whimsy so much she didn’t want to waste any of it!

Summer Breeze and It’s a Party 6x6 Designer paper pads were used to create thesetags


Simply cut a tag shape or use a die, add some stripsof paper. Then rip and tear them to addtexture or try a distressing tool to roughen up the edges. Add a little white gesso paint to theedged of the tag for more texture.

How to make an aerogram?An aerogram is where the letter and envelope are one and the same. It was usedduring World War 2 to send secret messages. Ellen thought that was so creative andhad to make a modern looking aerogram to share with all of you!

Tutorial

Turn to page 35 for supplies


Step 1:Creating the envelope. Ellen used a plastic stencil as a guideline. You can also use anenvelope score board or tear a paper envelope open and use that as a guide.


Step 2:

The second step was the most fun part; decorating the envelope. In the middle part of thisenvelope Ellen used the rectangle and scalloped frame from the “Shaker Builder SweetestBirthday” dies. This is perfect to write your notes on. The inside was further decorated with“Playful Pups” and “Playful Pups Add Ons” and sentiments from the “From a Friend” stampset.


Step 3:For the outside decoration, Ellen used another dog and sentiment (“Playful Pups” & “Froma Friend” stamp set). And the stamps from our “Handmade From Me” stamp set did makethis aerogram look like a real envelope.


Step 4:The last step is to give your envelope a perfect closure. For something like this, Ellen didn’t wantthe recipient to have to tear open the envelope as it would ruin the aerogram. Therefore, sheused Velcro on every piece that normally needs glue. The Velcro doesn’t need to beexpensive… Ellen actually recycled hers from a cornflake package. :)
