Crowdfundingisthepracticeoffundingaprojectorideabyraisingsmallamountsofmoneyfromalargenumberofpeople,typicallyviatheInternet.ThefollowingguidelinesrelatetoAustinISDcampusesandtheutilizationofcrowdfundingservicestoobtainresources.SchoolsEveryAustinISDschoolhasitsownEdbackeraccountforcrowdfunding,communications,volunteersignupandevents.Theprincipalateachschoolistheowneroftheaccountandhasfullresponsibilityforthecrowdfundingcampaigns.AustinISDteachershaveloginaccesstotheircampuspageandcancreatefundraisingcampaigns.Theprincipalmayaddadditionalauthorizedusers,includingbookkeepersandteachersponsorsforschoolclubs.Allschool-basedcrowdfundingcampaignsmustfirstbeapprovedbytheschoolprincipalbeforethecampaignispublishedontheEdbackersite.PTAsBecausePTAsandschoolsoftenworkcloselyoncrowdfundingefforts,thedistricthasauthorizedonePTAaccountperschool.PTAshavetheirownlogincredentials,cancreatecrowdfundingcampaignsandevents,managedonorlists,createvolunteeropportunitiesandmarketfundraisingcampaigns.FundsraisedaredirectlydepositedintothePTA’sPayPalaccount.Allschool-basedcrowdfundingcampaignsmustfirstbeapprovedbytheschoolprincipalbeforethecampaignispublishedontheEdbackersite.OC

OCSchoolBasedCrowdfundingCampaignsCampaignsfollowatwo-stepapprovalprocess:

1. Bookkeeperreview.Onceateacherorclubrepresentativecreatesacampaign,thebookkeeperassignstheappropriateaccountingcode.Thebookkeeperthennotifiestheprincipalthatthecampaignisreadyforhis/herapproval.

2. Schoolprincipalreview.Oncetheschoolprincipalapprovesthecampaign,thecampaignwillbepublishedontheschool’sEdbackerpage.

PTACrowdfundingCampaignsCampaignsfollowaone-stepapprovalprocess:

1. Schoolprincipalreview.PTAcampaignswillautomaticallybesenttotheschoolprincipalforapprovalbeforetheyarepublishedontheschool’sEdbackerpage.

OCAstheprincipalofyourschool,youarethemanagerofyourschool’sEdbackeraccount.Allcrowdfundingcampaignsmadebyyourstafforbyyourschool’sPTAwillbereviewedbyyou.Asthereviewer,youmaytakethefollowingactions:

1. Edit.Ifyoudecidethecampaignneedschanges,selecttheeditbutton.Yoursuggestionswillbenotedinthechatnotesandwillbesenttothecampaigncreator.Oncethecampaigncreatormakesthesuggestededits,theircampaignwillautomaticallybere-submittedforyourreview.

2. Reject.Permanentlyrejectthecampaignifyoudonotwantthecampaigntobepublished.

3. Approve.Approvethecampaignifitneedsnoedits,meetsyourcampus’objectivesandgoalsandhasyourapproval.Onceitisapproved,thecampaignwillbepublishedonEdbacker’ssite.

OCDistrictProcessTheprocessforreceivingdonationswascreatedinconjunctionwiththeAustinISDFinanceDepartment.AllEdbackerdonationswillbeprocessedmonthlythroughAustinISD’sPayPalaccountandareassociatedwithacampusstudentactivityaccount.OncethemoneyisreceivedinAustinISDTreasury,fundsaretransferredtothecorrespondingactivityaccount.Taxreceiptsacknowledgingthedonationwillautomaticallybesenttodonorsviaemail.PTAProcessDonationsmadetoPTA-sponsoredcampaignswillbeprocessedthroughtheindividualPTA’sPayPalaccount.OCSignintoEdbackerGotowww.edbacker.comandclickontheSignInbuttonatthetopofthepage.Enteryouremailandpassword.

andsignin:ViewCampaignsWaitingforReviewWhencampaignsaresubmittedforreview,youwillseeamessageatthetopofeverypageofyouraccount“Newcampaignstoreview,clickhere”.Youwillalsoreceiveanemailalertingyouofthestatusofpendingcampaigns.

Select“clickhere”.Allthecampaignssubmittedforreviewwillthenbedisplayed.

Clickonthecampaignnametobetakendirectlytoadraftofthecampaign.Totakeaction,clicktheredchatbubbletoopenawindow.Youmayleavenotesandeitherapprove,editorrejectthecampaign.Allnotespertainingtothecampaignwillbesavedforreview.

Ifthecampaignisapprovedbytheprincipal,itwillautomaticallybepublishedonthecampus’Edbackersite.ViewreportsinEdbackerClickonFundraisingandclick“Reporting”.

Youwillnowbeinthecrowdfundingreportingsection.

Themainpagewilldisplaythetotalnumberofpayments,totaldonationamount,andtheaveragedonationamount,alongwithalistofallofthosedonations.Usethedropdownmenutonarrowthecrowdfundingreportdownaccordingtototalcrowdfundingtype(campaign,dues,events)ortimeframe,orboth.

AllEdbackerreportscanbeexportedaseitherasanExcelfileorasaPDFbyusingtheexportbuttonsatthetopofthechart.
