Range of Accommodation

On board any cruise liner, the living spaces are very comfortably designed, offering a wide variety of cabin types to choose from:Inside Stateroom: Cabins do not have windows or port holes and are more economically priced. Oceanview: Cabins have windows or port holes and are often larger than the Inside Stateroom. Oceanview with Balcony: Cabins have glass door out to their own private verandah overlooking the ocean.Suites and mini-suites: Suites are the most spacious and elegant staterooms on a cruise. Some cruise liners offer special benefits such as preferred check-in and disembarkation. All cabins are fitted with the latest amenities and are tastefully furnished. A private bathroom with shower is attached to each cabin and the steward assigned to your cabin sees to it that you are comfortable. Cabin type and size will vary by ship depending on your selection of the cruise liner.

Dinning

Eating on a cruise ship is an event. The galley crew work all day, to deliver the finest quality and the widest variety of choices available. Most ships offer several cuisine options and several different restaurants. Menu options for every palette make the cruise experience great for families. Kid friendly cuisine, alongside fine dining choices; make family dining an enjoyable event. There is usually open seating for breakfast and lunch in the main dining room and meals served in mainly buffet style. Cruise liners also cater to special dietary preferences such as baby food and low-sodium, low-fat, low-sugar diet. A special section of Indian food for vegetarians as well as the non vegetarian is present on most of the ships. There can be more than one restaurant where you just walk in when you are ready to dine. On most of the cruise lines they offer the food of the region that you are visiting. Bottled water (mineral water) are not included in the cruise fare, but the tap water is always drinkable and safe.

Shore Excursions

Shore excursions are optional, guided tours on a cruise ship’s port of call. They are the best way to enhance your cruise experience by allowing you see and do more in the places you visit. Shore excursions are offered in most cruise ports and highlight the best local attractions, sight-seeing and high adventure activities. Snorkeling through coral reefs, exploring ancient Roman ruins, hiking on glaciers, shopping at local outdoor markets -- all of these shoreside activities are as much a part of the cruise experience Cruise liners provide a complete list of tours with descriptions and prices in advance of your cruise with your cruise documents. You can pre-book them prior to leaving home or wait until you board your ship. Shore excursions include transportation to the attraction or activity, the services of a local tour guide and entrance fees if applicable. Most cruise lines have age guidelines for some shore excursions, depending upon the age of the children.

Advantages of Booking Your Cruise Early

Early booking has several advantages. Most Cruise lines offer great discounts and provide cheap prices only on booking your cruise early. Besides the discount on cruise package you can also save money on air travel. You can get the air tickets at a discounted rate or else you can get them as a part of your cruise package. By booking your cruise early you will be able to acquire cabin of your own choice - have the desired place or location on the ship. Certain specific cabins or cabin types tend to sell out early. High-end suites, adjoining cabins or cabins that accommodate three or more guests may not be available closer to the sailing date. Availability on very specific dates like a particular holidays or school breaks or cruising on an unusual itinerary such as cruises to Antarctica or world cruises or if you need to book a group of travellers for a wedding or family reunion, can be availed on early booking. Therefore, it’s better to go for an early booking with a determination of not cancelling it at the last moment.

Freestyle Cruising

Freestyle cruising, like the name suggests, is a bit more relaxed. It does not have any pre-planned agenda for the day. It is all about giving you the freedom of choice to have your style of vacation. You still experience the thrill and excitement of a cruise vacation, but just in a more relaxed atmosphere. Relax or be adventurous. Dress up or go casual. And never have a fixed schedule or restriction to slow you down. Today, the freestyle cruising concept includes the following areas: Dining - Sit down to a four-course meal or grab a burger hot off the grill. You don’t have to reserve tables and dine with people you don’t know. Activities / entertainment – You choose which activities to attend and which entertainment venues to see. You can even choose to just sit back and relax the entire trip. Ports of call days – You choose the time when to disembark from the ship on ports of call days and there are plenty on Shore Excursions, a lot of choice and loads of fun or just stay back on the ship.

Range of Cruise liners to choose from

There are cruises designed to suit virtually every interest and personal preference. The choices include: boutique, luxury cruises with globetrotting itineraries: large, contemporary ships with a fantastic array of recreational facilities; classic vessels evoking the time-honoured traditions of cruising; special-interest or exploration cruises specializing in unique destinations with an accent on cultural enrichment. For experienced travellers, destination-focused cruises specialize in premium, culturally-rich ports of call with itineraries dedicated to illuminating such historic, world-class treasures, as the antiquities of classical Greece, the Polynesian paradise of Hawaii or the fabled splendor of Norwegian fjords. There are cruise lines that feature soft adventure expeditions to such unusual and rustic frontiers as Antarctica, the Amazon rain forest or African Serengeti and the historical legacies with itineraries to the Mediterranean and South America.

River Cruising

River cruising offers a comfortable and relaxing vacation through many of the world’s most picturesque rivers, canals, inlets and harbours. If you ever wanted to step on board a cruise ship and see the world’s most beautiful cities and drift gently afloat through the countryside - wander through scenic rural regions, then a river cruise is for you. The experience is more laid-back than on oceangoing voyages, and you’ll get a better feel for the destination since you’re staying within one region, rather than touring entire seas. River cruise ships are smaller and generally carry less, the staterooms tend to be small and more basic. Entertainment onboard may be limited and offer little in the way of evening entertainment, perhaps a piano player or a local act brought onboard to perform. The onboard features and amenities are limited, particularly in Europe, where ships must be low-slung enough to sail under low-lying bridges. A wide range of river cruises are available to suit all tastes, from basic to luxury.

Luxury Cruises

Luxury cruises are available on all our cruise holiday destinations, whether it is a one week cruise around the Canary Islands, an exotic Caribbean cruise or a grand Trans-Atlantic cruise. These ships have the best facilities and luxuries. There is no experience quite like that of a luxury cruise - ultra-luxurious cruise ships and top-notch amenities. The finest bed linens, most exquisite gourmet dining options, white-glove service – it’s all waiting for you onboard. With world class amenities of a floating luxurious hotel, restaurants, pubs, bars, nightclubs, discos, shopping areas, theatres, galleries, museums, libraries, casinos, gyms, spas, swimming pools and sporting facilities they have it all !!!! Elegant ballroom dancers feature guests dressed to the nines in tuxedos and gorgeous gowns. These cruises are waiting to treat you like royalty and wrap you in luxury and comfort. Luxury Cruises are beyond compare and dedicated to bringing the finest cruise experience to the modern traveller.

River Cruise

Travel in style on vessels that transit the world’s great rivers, to the world’s best-known cities, in Europe, Asia, & Africa

46

River Cruises

River cruising offers great vacation value, with meals and modest entertainment. Most river lines also roll locally selected dinner wines and shore excursions into their fares. A combination of cruise staff, tour guides and educators aim to bring passengers into the culture of the places they visit through port lectures, demonstrations by local artisans and expert-led tours. Travellers can also sail America’s Columbia, Mississippi and Hudson rivers, among others. Vietnam, Cambodia’s Mekong and the Amazon in South America are also more exotic river cruise destinations.

Europe Europe’s grand waterways is one of the best ways to explore inland Europe that take you to the heart of the continent’s magnificent cities, to vineyard-lined valleys and medieval castles that traditional big ships usually can’t access. Hundreds of riverboats and barges glide along Europe’s historic rivers and canals, which span thousands of miles of Continental waterways, connecting North to Black Sea. River itineraries in Europe feature a nice blend of sophisticated metropolises as well as charming and picturesque small towns and villages.

AfricaTravel through Africa has long been reputed the ultimate adventure frontier and a remarkable trip into the mystifying. Frequently Asked Questions1. Do I need a passport?Yes, all International air travel requires a valid passport.

2. Do cruise lines welcome families with kids?Without question. cruising is not only a fabulous, unforgettable vacation full of cool, high adventure activities for kids, it’s also an unbelievable educational opportunity. Cruise Lines cater to and provide facilities and services for families with children of all ages including toddlers, youth and teens. This includes expansive kids programming, kids facilities, kids menus and even special Shore Excursions and activities for the kids.

3. What about Shore Excursions? An updated listing of Shore Excursions is available approximately 6 months prior to the first sailing of each cruise destination season. You may either book the same online or once onboard you can purchase the same at the ship’s Shore Excursion Desk.

4. Why should I book a Shore Excursion? An organized shore excursion can maximize your time ashore and eliminate the need for making time-consuming arrangements while in port. Cruise Lines have tremendous experience in selecting those tours and attractions that they believe will best satisfy their passengers interests. The tours they select for you will highlight the most popular sites and activities in a particular port of call.

5. Can I leave my children on the ship while we take a tour? Having small children should not prevent you from enjoying all the activities available to you on your cruise vacation. Some cruise lines do offer their kids programs while you are in port, giving you the opportunity to enjoy Shore Excursions, independent sight-seeing tours, or shopping off the ship.

6. What’s included with a Shore Excursion? Shore excursions include transportation to the attraction or activity, the services of a local tour guide, equipment and gear (if applicable) and entrance fees if applicable. Some tours may also include meals, drinks and refreshments depending on the tour.

7. How physically challenging are Shore Excursions? Most tours require walking, however, some excursions include extensive walking and hiking. Likewise, the grand entryways of local museums, castles, forts and attractions; sprawling gardens; hilly and icy Alaskan terrain; or Europe’s cobblestone streets can all make walking and climbing even more difficult. Some tours can be very high energy such as white water rafting in Alaska, hiking the hill in Santorini (or riding the mules) and kayaking may require you to be in good shape. Whatever your fitness level, we highly recommend comfortable, low-heeled walking shoes. To assist guests in choosing their shore excursions, most cruise lines grade their tours accordingly.

8. Will I need special clothing on my Shore Excursion? You should plan to dress accordingly for the destination your are in and the tour you take. Certain tours like scuba diving, white-water rafting and glacier trekking will provide the appropriate equipment, gear and clothing as part of the tour. Additionally, your shore excursion description will provide more clothing recommendations as well.

9. Will I have any free time to explore on my own? This really depends upon the tour. Whenever possible, departure and return times are scheduled to give you time explore on your own. The local guides are considered top experts on local sights, offering you a chance to fully appreciate and experience their hometowns. Shore excursions are designed and organized in such a way as to maximize your time in each port and yet allow sufficient free time as well.

10. Are meals included on the tour? Unless it is specifically mentioned in the tour description, meals are not included. Most tour departure times complement the ship’s meal service hours, so you can enjoy your meal aboard. However, on some full day tours, or if you take more than one tour in a day, your return on board may not coincide with meal hours. In that case, the cruise line may provide a box lunch or full meal at a local restaurant. Fortunately, regardless of when you return, there is always a buffet or room service is available at all times.

11. When will I receive my Cruise & Travel Documents? If you booked your cruise outside of 30 days prior to sailing, you should expect to receive your cruise documents 7 - 10 days before you leave. If you booked your cruise at the last minute or made your final payment within 30 days of travel, you may receive “e-Documents” or pick them up at the pier on the day of check in.

12. What are “e-Documents”?E-Documents are electronic cruise documents issued by the cruise line when a cruise is booked within 30 days of departure. E-Documents include all of the same information as paper tickets except they are delivered as a PDF file via email or link to the cruise line’s website. Once you open the file, you can print it and take the tickets with you to the pier with your proof of citizenship. Not all cruise lines offer E-Documents.

13. What is Travel Insurance? Do I need it?Travel Insurance is designed to protect your vacation investment in the event you must cancel due to unforeseen circumstances. We would recommend that you purchase cruise cancellation insurance. Without insurance, you will be liable for all penalties if you cancel after you make final payment for your cruise. Travel Insurance covers:• Cancellations due to sickness, death, injury of you, a family member, domestic

partner or traveling companion • Travel delays due to inclement weather or natural disasters • Bankruptcy of an airline, cruise line or other travel supplier, when this plan is

purchased within 14 days of initial deposit • Terrorism (domestic and international) • Lost, stolen, or damaged baggage and personal effects • Emergency medical expenses • Expenses incurred if your travel is delayed • Emergency transportation to an adequate medical facility, with an escort when

medically necessary

14. How much luggage can I bring onboard the ship? The cruise lines have no limitation on how much luggage you bring. However, there are limitations that the airlines have for which they may charge a fee for extra baggage.

15. What should we pack? Pack like you would for a resort vacation: casual by day, dressier by night—and keep in mind the time of year and geographic area (in other words, you’ll be packing differently for an Antarctic exploration than for a West Indies sail). For certain events—a Captain’s Gala or “formal night,” for example—you’ll probably want to dress up a bit. Casual sportswear, including shorts, lightweight pants and jogging suits, is the order of the day both at sea and ashore in hotter climates. We recommend you bring a sweater, a jacket or an all-weather coat for cool evenings, and for shore excursions, depending on your destination. Due to unpredictable weather, don’t forget a hat or visor and a collapsible umbrella. Please be sure to bring proper clothing for visits to religious sites. You’ll also want low-heeled, rubber soled shoes for strolling on deck, as well as comfortable walking shoes or sandals to wear.Smart Casual: Passenger attire should be in keeping with what they would wear to a nice restaurant at home.• Skirts/dresses, slacks, and sweaters for ladies • Pants and open-neck shirts for menInappropriate dinner wear such as pool or beach attire, shorts and casual jeans (with fraying and/or holes) are not permitted in the dining rooms. Shoes must be worn.Formal: When formal nights are held, please observe the dress code in the Traditional Dining and Anytime Dining venues for the enjoyment of all our guests.• Evening gown, cocktail dress, or elegant pant suit for women • Tuxedo, dark suit or dinner jacket and slacks for men

16. What items are not allowed onboard the cruise ship?Weapons, illegal drugs, and other items that could interfere with the safe operation of the ship or the safe And secure environment. The following are prohibited items.• Firearms & Ammunition, including realistic replicas• Sharp Objects, including all knives and scissors• Illegal Drugs & Substances• Candles & Incense• Coffee Makers, Clothes Irons, & Hot Plates• Baseball Bats, Hockey Sticks, Cricket Bats, Bows & Arrows• Illegal Drugs• Skateboards & Surfboards• Martial Arts Gear• Self-Defense Gear, including handcuffs, pepper spray, night sticks• Flammable Liquids and Explosives, including lighter fluid and fireworks• HAM Radios• Dangerous Chemicals, including bleach and paintAlcoholic Beverages (Note: Alcoholic beverages that are purchased in ports-of-call or from shops onboard will be stored by the ship and delivered to you on the last day of the sailing. Alcoholic beverages seized on embarkation day will not be returned.)

17. If I have a medical or dietary condition, how do I notify the cruise line? Most cruise lines offer handicap accessible cabins and the cruise line will require you to fill out a medical advisory form, so that they are aware of your situation and can assist you. For dietary conditions, low-sodium meals, kosher meals and special diet meals will be available for you but the same needs to be advised at the time of booking.

36. How do I pay for my purchases onboard the ship? All financial transactions on a cruise ship are done through an onboard account you set up when you board the ship. You will provide a credit card or a cash deposit and then all purchases will be applied to your stateroom. You can conveniently charge all of your onboard purchases (beverages, spa services, ship souvenirs, pictures and shore excursions) to your cabin. On the last night of the cruise, a statement of all of your charges will be delivered to you and charged to your credit card. Or, you can join in exercise classes, dance classes, sports contests and other organized deck activities.

40. What is there to do in port? You can go off on your own. Or take a guided tour. You can search ancient ruins or hunt for shopping bargains. Ride a raft over river rapids, a bicycle ride down the side of a 10,000 foot volcano, or ride a horse across miles of hills and beaches. Eat local food or shop till you drop !! Windsurf, swim at some of the world’s best beaches or sail, snorkel or go scuba diving. Go to a nightclub or glittering casino. Every port of call will offer you umpteen choices of sightseeing !!

41. Do I have to participate in the activities? Not necessary, you do what you want to. You can do everything, or just lie back and do absolutely nothing. It is your choice and your vacation !.

42. What can we do at night? At night, life aboard a cruise ship really turns on. You may go dancing; take in live entertainment in the nightclubs, discos, and lounges; watch a feature film in the theater; party with new friends; try your luck in the casino. There’s usually something special going on, too—the Captain’s Cocktail Party or the Midnight Buffet.
