    HEBREW SCHOOLNEWS

Another school year has finished. Itseems like the time flew. We really had agood year; and are looking forward to aneven better one in September. Our tryingout fun through learning was a huge suc-cess. What we did, after a subject was fin-ished being taught instead of giving a writ-ten test we played a game "Jewporady." Weput the children in teams and they had doget the answers. They had a great time whilereviewing. We were able to evaluate ourteaching procedures and what the childrenwere learning. Junior Congregation was ahuge success. Peter Oppenheimer does afabulous job. We gave 6 X Chai to YAD Sa-rah in honor of him. It went to toys and booksfor sick and needy children. Kudos to all thechildren for always bringing in Seducah.Their change all adds up. We thank you.The calendar will be going out at the end ofJuly. Please note the dates of our activities, and make every effort to attend. We hopeyou all have a great and safe summer. I canalways be reached through The Temple, orby E-mail [email protected]. I will be goingin for surgery and hopefully by Labor Day Iwill be able to join Shlomit and Revi and seeyou on the beach.,

Rabbi Jacob ChigerWe deeply mourn the passing of our former spiritual leader,

Rabbi Jacob Chiger. He and his beloved wife Eleanor were apart of the Temple Israel family for 15 years.

Rabbi Chiger was a Torah scholar, a man with a great senseof compassion for his congregants and source of help and in-spiration to members with personal problems. He was a goodfriend to many of us, and we shall profoundly miss him. In hislatter years, he devoted much time with his grandchildren, whomhe doted on, and in return loved him.

Our heartfelt sympathy is given to Eleanor, Simmie, Tsippi,Shifra and Joseph and their grandchildren.
