Recyrkulacja gorącego powietrza ma wpływ na TCO (TCO, ang. Total Cost of Ownership), największym składnikiem kosztów chłodzenia jest koszt energii elektrycznej zasilającej klimatyzatory. Zjawisko recyrkulacji gorącego powietrza powoduje obniżenie wydajności systemów chłodniczych oraz wzrost kosztów energii elektrycznej. Niewłaściwa konfiguracja szaf powoduje, że system chłodzenia aby sprostać wymaganiom musi przesłać większą ilość powietrza niż była zakładana.

Zasady, które należy przestrzegać przy zarządzaniu przepływu powietrza: - przemyślana lokalizacja klimatyzatorów, - utworzenie rzędów szaf z zimnymi i gorącymi przejściami, - stosować zaślepki 19”- uszczelnienie szaf wokół przestrzeni użytkowej, - wszystkie przepusty kablowe należy uszczelnić,- odpowiednia konstrukcja szaf do koncepcji chłodzenia, - odpowiednia głębokość szaf (min 1000mm)- nie stawiać monitorów, serwerów typu Tower na półkach - rozproszyć urządzenia o dużej gęstości mocy,

ZPAS Air-conditioning:

- even distribution of cold air at the whole height of the air -conditioner

- controller with keyboard and display (adjustment of air-conditioning parameters)

- monitoring of the air -conditioning via Ethernet

- heat capacity control by controlling the flow of refrigerant or with variable speed of

fans,

- temperature and humidity measurements

Benefits:-air-conditioners are in rows and not on the perimeter of the room, shortening air flow path causes a reduction of mixing of hot and cold streams and lower power consumption

- hot air is captured directly from the IT equipment before mixing with colder ambient air giving

higher air conditioner efficiency- modular design - easy to create a redundant N +1,

- this solution does not require raised floor for distributing of cold air
