答案:

Two rich brothers, Oliver and Roderick, made a bet.

Oliver believed that with a million pound bank note a man could

survive a month in London, but Roderick didn't believe it.

sea by a strong wind when sailing home. He was spotted by a ship

where he earned his passage by working as an unpaid hand. Then

the boat brought him to London quite by accident. As Henry was

penniless, the brothers thought him the right person to test who

would win the bet. So they asked Henry to come into a mansion

and gave Henry a letter, telling him not to open it until 2

o'clock.
