Hi everyone,I hope all is well.I don’t like starting off my message on a sad note but from time to time it will happen. Mac MacTavish has passed away on May 9, 2012. He was our club publicity person for many years. He and his wife Faye have not been active in sometime but we all will miss him dearly.I want to thank everyone that came out to the zone show. We had a good show and a good time. Thank you to all my judges and registration people for their help, without you it would not get done.I want to remind you all about this months event “GOLDEN ROCKET RANCH” June 23, 2012 in Hollister see newsletter for details and map. Membership ReportWe had one renewal for 2 years which brings our NCOC paid membership to 169 as of June 4, 2012.NOTICE: Starting with next year’s 2013 Northern California Oldsmobile Club (NCOC) membership drive, I am requesting that all members please send in their Oldsmobile Club of America (OCA) membership renewal directly to OCA and not to the NCOC membership chairman for processing. The old procedure causes additional unnecessary work and bookkeeping for the NCOC Membership Chairman that is more efficiently handled by each individual NCOC member.Membership Chairman, Dan Haggerty

This issue has the Morro Bay show coverage. I took lots of photos and had some more submitted by members which I welcome. What I do need more of is written input. So many times I end up writing my perspective of a show or event and I may miss a lot as I usually judge at shows. So please feel free to send in your stories of how you see events and the Oldsletter will be better for it! Maybe we need a club reporter, any volunteers? We have the map and information for the 1st “annual” Golden Rocket Ranch gather- ing in Hollister. Immediate Notice for June 23. Contact Dan Haggerty for sign up.

Treasurer ReportI called the IRS on 6-4-12 for their ruling on our club’s request for tax exempt status and was told that I should be notified by the end of June 2012. The state tax exempt status ruling is not due until the end of July 2012. After NCOC receives IRS & FTB tax exempt filing status, then succeeding years tax returns will be on simple filing forms. Our club’s National Bank Account has $18,964 as of 4-30-12 and our club’s general account has $11,289 as of 4-30-12. These two accounts will be combined after the above tax issues are resolved. Out and About with OldsmobilesNor Cal member Mario Targio with his ‘55 convertible was selected to be the lead car for the Grand Marshall Bob Klein in a vintage car parade. Klein was instrumental in getting the Stem Cell initiate on the ballot in California.

I joined the club in 1990 Mac and Faye were among the movers and shakers in the club. Active in the annual swap, shows, tours and all. Mac always had a camera around his neck and was the club reporter. Above Mac hosts a meeting at his place about 2000. Below Mac and Faye at one of our annual Christmas meetings.
