PASTOR’S POTPOURRI - ELDAD AND MEDAD In listening to the first reading today from the Book of Numbers, we hear Moses calling on the Spirit to anoint those 72 men he chose to help him take care of the people of Israel. Two were not present, Eldad and Medad, but they

still received the spirit. They were on the list of the cho-sen. We, too, are on the list of those who are baptized and have been chosen by God to be a holy people, to be prophets and to share the kingly role. The Lord tells us that we must not let anything stand in our way of being prophetic. He uses exaggeration it saying we need to cut off body parts if they are the problem But especially we must not cause scandal for any of the little ones who follow…it were better says the Lord that a great millstone be put around their neck and thrown into the sea … powerful. Let us ask the Lord today to help us to be faithful in following him. — Fr. Bob

stepping stones placed for each of the Our Father and Hail Mary prayers: begin at the large cross and you will see the Our Father and 3 Hail Mary’s lead-ing to the 1st mystery which is right in front of the statues of Mary and the angel. Turn right and you

will find 10 more Hail Mary stones before you reach the Our Father circle for the 2nd mystery and

so on… Stop by anytime!

Parishioners can bring diaper donations to the breakfast in the Lower Level of the Community Center on that day. Thank you for your donations.

*Children 18 years and under are free. It’s that time of year again when the Knights conduct their giving out of Tootsie Rolls to benefit children and adults with intellectual disabilities. The donations given will be split between Carron Cof-fee House and Camp Paha for Children. Tootsie rolls are to be distributed Oct 6th & Oct 7th after Masses.

A longtime supporter of the Knights of Columbus and council 16052 has been Father Bob Kinkel.

He not only is quick to promote Knights’ events and activities from the altar as part of his Pastoral announcements but also attends most of the functions. Father Bob mingles in the crowd of attends and provides support and encour-agement to the volunteers, workers and their families.

When officers and event planners are organizing Knights of Columbus func-tions, Father Bob’s major areas of emphasis has been organizing the planning, design, fundraising and future construction of the Church’s expansion. His organizational skills have been a benefit to this major project.

In addition to his daily routine, one has only to read his weekly column in the Parish bulletin to realize and appreciate his pastoral qualities.

A Knight of Columbus since June, 1986, we congratulate Father Bob Kinkel as our Knight of the month for May, 2018.
