DESCRIPTION

I find this overly connected, technology-driven new world and the way it has changed our communication scary and unacceptable. I reject the idea that I should be “plugged in" all of the time. No one has to schedule anything anymore and nobody is held accountable.

TRANSCRIPT

Technology has taken a toll on human interaction.

The intimacy in talking to one

another has been lost through

texting, e-mail and cell phones.

With all the different forms

of technology, face-to-face

interaction has deteriorated.

We need to reconnect and

reestablish our relationships

with one another and take

a step back from the many

screens we hold so dear.

INTIMACY

IS DYING.

Text messages

and social

media sites like

Facebook and

MySpace — so

beloved for

bringing people

together — can

also drive a wedge

between couples.

I’m a tall, dark, handsome, health nut.

Through the different forms of social media

I’m a hiking kind of girl. You can always find me in a pair of tennis shoes.

people can easily edit and filter who they really are.

With our cell phones

so conveniently

located in our

pockets or purses,

we are never alone.

We are always

with our beloved

machines, available

at every moment.

Cell phones

act as constant

companions, and

people always

have to be “on.”

There is no real

time to relax.

Life happens while some

people’s eyes are glued

to their phone. Moment

to moment, they wait

for reassurance and miss

out on everything going

on around them.

People forget one important

function of the cell phone...

it turns off.
