Standard food and water pans

Silicone covered stand handles allow user to move the whole chafing dish easily when it is in use without getting burned

CONCEPT

“What if your vitamin levels could be tested from home?”

PROBLEMS1. Transportation (To/from doctors office)2. Long processing time3. Fear of needles (20% of the population)

1. 2. 3.

IDEATION

MODEL

The vitamin reader attaches to the skin using PSA (pressure sensitive adhesive)

This image shows the tab that allows the user to easily peel the vitamin reader from their skin.

CONCEPT

Designed to use near infraredspectroscopy (Technology currentlyapplied to glucometers and neuroimaging)

Allows the product to be non-invasive (no needles)

Main material, screen, and circuit boards bend to fit to the contours of the user

Example of how the flexible material will be integrated into the design.

DIGITAL MODELS

The design above shows the final concept. Features include:

1. Power button with an LED to indicate the power is on.

2. Screen with interface that corresponds to the app (shown later)

3. Arrow buttons to chose a vitamin to test for

CORRESPONDING APP

The goal of this project was not only to design an at-home vitamin reader but to improve the users knowledge of their body and vitamins. I designed the app to allow the user to learn about vitamins, how to consume them, and to access more information from the vitamin reader with bluetooth.

Watch idea Ex: “Apple Watch, fit-bit” “Roll-on” adhere to skin

CORRESPONDING APP

CORRESPONDING APP

USER FLOW

The user identifies a symptom

Then uses the app to find out which vitamin deficiencies cause this symptom

The user puts on the vitamin reader and selects the corresponding vitamin

The vitamin reader scans using near-infrared spectroscopy to determine levels

USER FLOW

The vitamin reader scans for B12 and the resultsare displayed on the screen

Using bluetooth, the user can send the results to the app to see more detailed informationand save the data to show ahealth care proivder

DESIGN DEVELOPMENT

What is the lowest height the basket will be?

The top of the basket at the lowest height sits at 34”Average human navel heights: 34”-45” (5’-6’2”)

Can the shopping walker fit in the car?

It must compact to at least 57”x19”x32”An average sized car has a trunk size equal to those dimensions

What is the height of a typical checkout counter?

A counter is 38” tall and 21” wide
