Feast of Corpus Christi

Today we honour the Most Holy Body and Blood of Christ (Corpus Christi), the food which sustains us on our journey through life Every Sunday we still gather in the millions around the world and hear in the Eucharistic Prayer the words - “Do this in memory of me “ and we do remember Him. We remember Jesus, his compassion, his life, his forgiveness, his teachings, his miracles, and his love. He wanted to be remembered and He is. Wishing you every blessing, Fr Gerry

A very warm welcome to you all, especially those who are just visiting. If you have any questions about our liturgical life and the many wonderful parish groups we have please do ask.

This Sunday there will be a second collection in aid of Sick Clergy. Please be as generous as you can. Thank You.

The Legion of Mary is here to serve our parish beneath the standard of Our Lady's loving care. If you or a loved one would like a

visit please leave your details in the 'Legion of Mary Box' in the church porch .

We m e e t e v e r y Monday at 5pm and would very much w e l c o m e n e w members.

SACRAMENTS

As Catholics, one of the most profound ways we encounter Jesus Christ is in the Sacraments.

Confirmation This weekend we welcome back Milo, Danielle, Joseph, Jack, Rian, Jimmy, Michael, Sean, Zephyr, Zenith & Lily to receive their certificates. Please continue to keep our young people in your prayers as they accept their new responsibilities for witnessing Jesus to the world.

First Holy Communion This Sunday we welcome back our First Holy Communion children Florence, Robert, Connie, Joshua, Raissa, Jack, Olivia, Sophie, Albert, Archie, Rosie, Isla, Arran, Millie, Annabelle, Thomas, Joshua, Kieran, Abigail, Matilda, Angel & Tadhg to receive their certificates. May they always remember that they have

now become part of the most sacred celebration, the Eucharist. Thank you once again to everyone involved in making their day so special. Special thanks to Alison & Laurence Mil ls who were a fantastic help on the day.

RCIA Becoming Catholic is one of life’s m o s t p r o f o u n d a n d j o y o u s experiences. RCIA is taking a short break but will resume in a few weeks time. Please keep a look out for new dates in the bulletin.

Baptism If you wish your ch i l d /ch i l d ren to r e c e i v e t h e S a c r a m e n t o f B a p t i s m p l e a s e speak to Fr Gerry after Mass.

Reconciliation In the Sacrament of Reconciliation we discover that God loves us no matter what we have done, and is ready to forgive whenever we turn to him in prayer. Saturday at 5pm

Year of Mercy

Prayer & Refelection

“God is so merciful towards us. We too should learn to be merciful…” - Pope Francis

But what if you decided to become even more merciful?

Don’t Judge - Merciful people don’t say, “You got what you deserved,” or “You caused this yourself.” Maybe the person did act recklessly, or refused to see a doctor, or continued to smoke or eat junk food. Let God be the judge of what happened. You are called to offer mercy and help in whatever way you can - no matter what the circumstances. What attitudes would you have to change in order to stop judging others?

As part of the Jubilee Year of Mercy instigated by Pope Francis, the community at Brentwood Cathedral invites the stranger, the wounded and all those searching for spiritual sanctuary to join us in the presence of our all compassionate God.12th June 2016 - 6.30pm Mass Welcoming those who are either unemployed or have been made redundant and are struggling to find work and make ends meet Preacher: Fr James Kennedy CMF
