The Most Holy Trinity

Today we celebrate the Most Holy Trinity, the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. Together they represent the fullness of love. The Father loves the Son, the Son loves the Father. The Holy Spirit is their love for each other. We are made in the image of a triune God. God the Father, who created us, his Son who saved us, and the Holy Spirit who continues to guide us. Our lives should reflect the Trinity. We should always be creative like the Father, compassionate like his Son, and dispose our talents in the service of others like the Holy Spirit.

Wishing you every blessing, Fr Gerry

A very warm welcome to you all, especially those who are just visiting. If you have any questions about our liturgical life and the many wonderful parish groups we have please do ask.

We especially welcome Fr Basil to our parish this weekend as Fr Gerry is leading a pilgrimage to the Holy Land.

The Legion of Mary is here to serve our parish beneath the standard of Our Lady's loving care. If you or a loved one would like a visit please leave your details in the 'Legion of Mary Box' in the church porch . We meet every Monday at 5pm and would very much welcome new members.

SACRAMENTS

As Catholics, one of the most profound ways we encounter Jesus Christ is in the Sacraments. Last weekend was a very special time for our young people. In Confirmation our 11 young people became more closely united with Christ. With the strengthening of the Gifts of the Holy Spirit they are able to accept new responsibilities for witnessing Jesus to the world. The Eucharist is holy, a sacred celebration that brings us into close contact with the holiness of God. In the Eucharist the holiness of God is present to us in a unique way. We are made holy by the very act of participating in the Eucharist. Everything associated with the Eucharist is blessed and holy. Last Saturday 22 of our young people became a part of this sacred celebration.

Year of Mercy

Prayer & Refelection

“God is so merciful towards us. We too should learn to be merciful…” - Pope Francis

But what if you decided to become even more merciful? Dare to Really Care. Allow yourself to look beneath another person’s surface needs and feel what that person is going through. Maybe it is physical pain. Or, maybe it is loneliness, rejection, discouragement, or fear. Imagine

that you are seeing the person through the eyes of Jesus. Then decide how you can help that person. How would your life change if you began to really care about other people?
