I have always been interested in art and creativity for as long as I

can remember; Im sure that its made me an oddball and stand out

from my peers. The only classes that interested me had to do with art,

computers, or music. I was a gifted student. I probably learned more

about computers and art away from school than I did in school.

Its taken a lot of time living in the real world, learning lifes lessons;

some not in such an easy way to realize that art, design, and creativityall make me happy. Im always looking to upgrade my talents

and skills; I realize that learning new techniques takes practice, and

practice makes perfect.

Through my time being the odd one out I have learned to speak my

mind, and to tell the truth. Ive noticed that people would rather be

told what they want to hear than the truth. Im a hard worker and

wont let up until the job at hand is done. I am focused to the details.

I am known for clean lines, whimsical gures and pieces, crazy color

palettes, a sense of cleverness, and rugged skater punk rock style to

the classical and clean cut ways of the pinstriped 50s. I have been

known to push the envelope, and try to be on the cutting edge of

good design for all of my design career and life.

Surreal Paper

Magazine Ad Design

The surreal paper ad originally was a surrealist, fantasy picture. The

idea behind it was to use stock photos and show some feelings I washaving lately while creating a surrealist picture. I made this scenery

with a photo of the desert, a book, and a few pictures of lava. I feel

this picture almost being reminiscent of Salvador Dali. I changed this to

a magazine ad for a paper company that makes and sells high quality

paper and journals for artists and writers. The reason I chose the topic

of paper, is because I understand that paper quality plays a huge part in

quality of the finished product.

Movies On The Beach

Movies on the BeachMuskego,M

Movies on the Beach is a

local event that was started

in the summer of 2012. MotB

tries to have atleast 1 movieper month.

For the actual events, they

bring a sound system, and

a screen down to Pere

Marquette Park and set it up

to play a movie; movies of

the past have been: Indiana

Jones, Ferris Buellers Day

Off and The NeverendingStory (to name a few).

This event is free to anyone

that is interested in seeing a

movie. This was originally

for a T-Shirt contest, because

Movies on the Beach didnt

have a logo, or anything at

all to signify them as their

own event. I entered my

Illustration into the contestand won the contest. This

was a vote based contest.

I chose this layout because it

showcases the light houses

at Pere Marquette, and it also

shows how MotB helps bring

the community together.

I did DJs Pub and

Grill business Identity

freelancing. The

proprietors of DJs Pu

and Grill wanted a log

that was updated from

their old logo but nothtoo different; so I did j

that. One of the main

concerns was not wan

to change the sign in

front of the building, b

wanting to update the

feel of the business at

the same time. I feel

identity gives off a cla

feel, while at the same

time, helps breathe nelife into the business.

Skater Monthly Newsletter

ewsletter Design

The Skater Monthly newsletter was

something I put together for fun.

Where I could make a newsletter

about anything in the world. I chos

to do mine about skateboarding in

June. I wrote most of the articles

in here, except the article on

how to kickflip. I believe that

if this was a real newsletter, real

skateboarders would like it because

of all the different DIY articles and

the list of skateparks in the area.

I feel like this could actually

work as a monthly newsletter

in Muskegon County. It

could help unify the alreadyweakened skaterboarding

community.

Alfred Hitchcock Movie Collection Poster

Poster Design

The Alfred Hitchcock

piece is a poster

advertising the release

of his DVD/Blu-ray

collection being releas

This was originally

supposed to be an

old style political ad

(in the same style as

the elections in the

1800s) so I change

to be an ad for a

movie collection.

These are a few ofmy favorite Hitchco

films, minus The

Birds. Anyone that

know Hitchcock

knows that the

suspense in these

movies hits you like

a whirlwind, so that

text, is inadvertantly

resembling a tornad

Alfred Hitchcock isfinishing Psycho,

and the Master of

Suspense Collection

ends with the very

same movie.

This is a corporate identity

for a fictional yoga studio

called Cross Balance.

I stuck with an earthtone

pallette because yoga

is a soothing series ofexcercises. I also felt that

the colors reminded one of

a bamboo thicket, which

gives the feeling of being

in nature. Yoga is done in

such fluid motions, I felt

the logo had to be natural.

Michigan TrailMix Magazine

Cover Design

Back Ad Design

The Michigan Trail Mix magazine was a

mock magazine I put together. Michigan

Trail Mix is about hiking, and outdoors

here in Michigan. It would be a quarterly

Tourism / advertisement magazine. The

reason for the CamelBak ad is to show

how this magazine would be put together.

I decided to go take all of the scenic

pictures in the magazine. All of the scenic

pictures are from Lake Harbor Park in

February 2013. I also wrote the article in

the magazine.

The Camelbak advertisement received a

lot of good remarks; as did this magazine.

Everyone that has had a chance to read

through it has commented on the beautifulpictures and the articles sense of humor.
