Annual Parish Gala Committee
This invitation features the work of 14th C. Italian artist Duccio di Buoninsegna. “The Calling of the Apostles Peter and Andrew” was part of a magnificent altarpiece that towered 17 feet above the main altar in the cathedral of Siena. Dedicated to the “Virgin in Majesty”, the altarpiece was installed on June 9, 1311 after a triumphant procession through the streets of Siena. Now 700 years later, our Church of St. Mary is calling us to celebrate our 160th Anniversary with the same message “Come after me, and I will make you fishers of men.”
