School Magazine

I am going to create a front cover and contents page of what I would do if I was in charge of creating the school magazine, at the beginning of my course. This is done to almost prepare me for my music magazine which I will next create after I have done this and got used to it.

Doing the school magazine task, will help me know my way around the software better, and will gain my confidence. Therefore I will be more comfortable changing around the slides and designs. This task will be very beneficial for me and will help me out in the long run.

This is my first project so it will probably be helpful towards my music magazine as it will help me to develop my ideas and hopefully the music magazine will be better then this one.

Front Cover Contents Page

The magazine is called Inspire, this is the designed that I did. It gave me an idea of what my layout was going to be, this had the plan of a basic magazine. It gave me a really good idea of what I needed to do when I was on the computer. I changed the page a few times when creating the design to what I thought would be best. I changed the design from the original one because it best fitted the magazine preferences.

As you can see here, I manipulated the photo by cropping out most of the background. I also added an effect by changing the colour of the photo, this added a more vibrant effect to the picture.

Lil’Wayne, he is the centre of attention, catches the readers eye with his swagger.

Rhetorical question, good cover line to have.

The contrast of colour fits in well and stand out at the mastheads.

Chris Brown, person on the front cover has swagger, this catches the audiences eye and is very persuasive. The whole picture of him dominates the page.

Masthead is large and bold, this stands out very well.

Sub headings are in attractive colours that stand out to the reader, on the right its green and white, the green is highlighting the important words like names.

T.I is a large figure in the music industry, he is wearing a suit hat and glasses which is very persuasive with the attitude he has.

White background so the words stand out well.

Two large icons in not only the music industry. This will increase the range of audience that will buy the magazine, not only from music but the film industry.

As you can see they are wearing suits, the writing has changed colour when over the suit so it stands out.

In this contents page, the masthead stands out as it is the only large word on the page.

Not like a normal contents page, there is one large picture that dominates the page, and the red heart stands out where all the other words are in dull colours.

There is a large V behind Kanye, this stands for the V on Vibe, which is the name of the magazine, it is very outstanding.

Vague writing, normally there are more pictures and more writing on a contents page.

Contents masthead is large and bold, this stands out and will catch the readers eye.

Subheadings and more writing occur on this page, not like the last one I reviewed.

Basic contents page, gets the point across and lets the reader know what they need to know. Two images and basic writing.

Doubled page spread researchThis double page spread attracts the audience with the big picture of the subject on the front taking up on of the two pages. The centre of attention is on the picture then this is reinforced by the text which holds information about the picture or subject in the picture.
