365 Thank Yous One recent December, at age 53, John Kralik found his life at a terrible, frightening low. All aspects of his life seemed to be failing: his relationships with his children and partner, his work, his health. Then, hiking on New Year’s Day, John was struck by the thought that his life might become at least tolerable if he could be grateful for what he had.

365 Thank Yous is a rare memoir, its touching message delivered in the plainspoken storytelling of an ordinary man. To read 365 Thank Yous is to be changed.

Add colour and flavour to cakes and desserts with

your fresh, juicy-red strawberries. Sliced, blended,

or eaten whole, they’ll go down a treat.

Whip the cream until soft, using a whisk. To serve, place a meringue on a plate and dollop a spoonful of cream over the top . . .

Make the sauce while the meringues are cooling on a wire rack. Do this by placing half the strawberries and the icing sugar into a blender and whizz.

Scoop large spoonfuls of the swirly meringue onto the baking sheet. Keep dribbling more chocolate into the bowl. Put the filled tray into the oven.

Melt the chocolate in a heat-proof bowl set over a saucepan of simmering water. Dribble a few spoonfuls of the melted chocolate over the mixture.

Place a splodge of meringue mixture at each corner of a baking tray and place a piece of baking sheet on top. This will keep the sheet still.

Pour the egg whites and salt into a bowl and whisk until stiff and soft peaks form. Mix in the caster sugar a spoonful at a time to make the meringue mixture.

My Career with The Learning LadderSenior Sales Leader, Yasemin Maxwell

After joining The Learning Ladder four years ago, I fell instantly in love with the gorgeous books, games and puzzles, and wanted them ALL. Starting my own business was an exciting challenge for me, as in the past I had only ever worked as a veterinary nurse and had no selling experience. But now, because of my decision to become an independent businesswoman, I can enjoy the flexibility and convenience of working more family friendly hours, when it suits me.

As I started to grow our very own home library, which my two boys love so much, I really started to see that there was more than just lifestyle and amazing rewards and recognition on offer. I soon began to grow my own team of women who share the same passion for this business. The rewards along the way are numerous and I have already received gorgeous flowers, Cerrone jewellery, a huge library of free books, full time income/part time hours, and two International Conferences to incredible destinations such as Tahiti and Buenos Aires.

Furthermore, not only do I get to help other families instil a love of learning in their children, but I also get to train, support and encourage other women in growing their very own business, as I learn the skills of becoming a Leader of Leaders.

Finally, and this is most important to my husband and me, I get to be the one to raise our two boys, while running a very successful business - all at the same time. It doesn’t get any better than that!
