About Our Cover…Your 6th Force Support Squadron is here to help you and your family celebrate in style this Thanksgiving with several exciting events.

Are you a sharpshooter? If so, you’ll want to head out to the Skeet Range on Fri, 13 Nov from 8:30 am to 2 pm and test your skill to win a holiday turkey. The cost is only $4 a shot and everything is provided. You can even enjoy a hot dog lunch while you’re there.

The Bayshore Club will once again offer their annual Thanksgiv-ing Day Brunch on Thu, 26 Nov from 11 am to 2 pm. The brunch buffet will feature all your traditional favorites of roast turkey, dressing, baked ham, side dishes, plus added breakfast items, fruits, and desserts.

If you’d rather leave the cooking to us but would rather eat at home, consider ordering one of the “Thanksgiving to Go” pack-ages from the Surf’s Edge Club. Choose from two packages with main dishes of either turkey or ham and we’ll also add the side dishes and dessert! Packages serve 6-8 and must be ordered and paid for by Tue, 24 Nov.

Military ID cardholders, retirees, and their families are wel-comed to come to the Diner’s Reef dining facility on Thanksgiv-ing Day where a traditional feast will be served by your favorite Commanders and First Sergeants from 10:30 am to 6 pm.

However you choose to celebrate this year, take a moment and give thanks for your family and friends but especially remember those military personnel supporting the mission elsewhere who won’t be home this Thanksgiving because they continue to sup-port our fi ght for freedom.

Special thanks to this month’s cover model, SSgt Deborah Garza, 6th Dental Squadron.

YOUTH EMPLOYMENT SKILLS (YES) PROGRAM: The Youth Employment Skills (YES) Program is an on-base volunteer program for high school students. This program is a joint effort between Air Force Aid Society and Air Force Airman & Family Services Flight to offer high school students an opportunity to learn valuable work skills, “bank” dollar credits toward their post-secondary education/training, and have a positive impact on their base community. YES allows high school students to “bank” $4 in grant funding for every hour volunteered in an on-base function. Students may accumulate as much as 250 hours over all 4 years of high school combined, for a potential maximum of $1,000 toward their future vocational-technical or academic endeavors. All high school-aged children (grades 9-12) of Active Duty Air Force members assigned to MacDill are eligible to participate. Please speak with the Youth Center staff for more details and how to apply.
