This class trains your brain to use the skills you already have to tap into the right side of your brain and improve your drawing. We do basic pencil and paper drawing and move on to charcoal drawing in sessions two and three.

Two, three, or four players use solid paddles made of wood or composite materials to hit a perforated polymer ball, similar to a wiffle ball, over a net. The sport shares some features of other racquet sports; the dimensions and layout of a badminton court, a net, and rules similar to tennis, with a few modifications. Come join us for two free introductory sessions to the fastest growing game in the nation for the 50+ age group. Get an excellent workout while

Introduction to Fly FishingJune 13 & 16, 6:00 – 9:00 p.m., $25Harms CenterFly fishing is generally thought of as a sport best enjoyed in the setting of mountain streams catching trout or salmon. While

these waters are great places to fly fish, you can catch a variety of fish and have the same great fly fishing experiences in your local warm water lakes and ponds. This class helps the beginning or novice fly fisher learn the basic principles associated with fly fishing. Learn more about the equipment necessary for getting started, how to properly set up a fly rod, become familiar with the basic principles of fly casting, and understand the use of flies and common fly fishing strategies necessary for catching fish in streams, lakes, and ponds. This class is required in order to register for Principles of Fly Casting.

Medication AidePre-Requisite: Basic Nursing AssistantJune 13 – 30, (M-TH)1:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m.Heritage Health Care$327, plus bookThis course is designed to instruct the experienced Nurse Aide to assume the role of Medication Aide. Fundamentals of Protecting Seniors from Financial ExploitationJune 22, 8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.FREE with pre-registration!Harms CenterElder abuse and financial exploitation is an emerging epidemic. Many Nebraskans are being confronted with the challenges of protecting themselves and their loved ones from the threat of elder abuse and financial exploitation. This training discusses responses to address these issues, how to

protect seniors from scams, how medical-legal partnership impacts seniors, how the new Public Guardianship Office works to help people in need, and emerging trends in consumer law for seniors. Training is free and open to government, non-profit organizations, attorneys, long-term care facilities, bankers, etc.

Personalized Embellished Picture FrameJune 22, 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m., $15 Harms CenterJust in time for summer and weddings! Have fun using up those outdated, broken jewelry pieces, buttons, ribbons, and small knickknacks to create a one of a kind, personalized, beautiful picture frame worthy of any picture. Participants should bring any pieces of jewelry or beads they no longer use along with buttons, ribbon/fabric pieces, dainty fabric flowers and any other small knickknacks that possibly could be used. Frames are provided and if you have a personal fram you are welcome to bring it. You may wish to bring a picture for the inside of the frame so you have a good idea of what theme, color, or story you wish to convey with your unique creation. Please wear clothing suitable for using glue and scissors. Supplies provided include: frames (all sizes up to 8X11), glue, scissors, and other tools.

Principles of Fly CastingJune 22, 6:00 – 9:00 p.m., $20Harms CenterIf you thought casting a fly line was too complicated for you to master, you’ll be surprised to learn that with the knowledge of a few basic principles, a little personal instruction, and some practice, anyone can become proficient enough at fly casting to enjoy the sport of fly fishing. In this class, we review the basic principles of fly casting, learn common fly casting techniques used in a variety of fly fishing situations, and devote time to personal instruction and casting practice. Participants must bring a properly set up and functional fly rod to class for personal instruction and practice. To experience maximum learning from the class, the participant should also have completed the Introduction to Fly Fising class. Class size is limited in order to provide individualized attention and instruction.
