Clean sweep for Meziere at mid-season SoCal Pro Gas races
2015 Pro Gas champion Mike Blodgett Jr won the Meziere sponsored
race, he is currently in second place four points behind Greg Martin.
Pete Bothe had a great Father’s Day weekend at Fontana, logging
his second win of the season. Pete is a four-time Pro Gas champion.

2015 Southern California Pro Gas Assoc., champion Mike Blodgett Jr went to his second series final of the season defeating
Daniel McClelland for the Meziere Enterprises-sponsored event title. Getting a .006 better light, Blodgett took the win light with a
9.902, 135.09 to McClelland’s too quick 9.890, 150.55, driving his dad’s ‘27 roadster. Paul Wiechmann was the top qualifier of the
event.
Quarterfinal racing began with Blodgett defeating Mike Lany, Steve Parsons overcame a perfect light by Wiechmann to get a
9.895 win to a second best of 9.892, McClelland stopped Evan Kowalski in a double breakout race, and Ernie Macias advanced to
the semifinals with a win over red-lighting Dan Bain of Las Vegas. In the semifinals Blodgett used a .007 light and 9.905 to defeat
racing buddy Parsons, and McClelland’s .008 light was too much for Macias’ Beretta.
Mike Blodgett Jr won the annual Meziere Cool-down Nationals.

Bothe wins Father’s Day Pro Gas race

Four-time Pro Gas champion Pete Bothe won his second race of the new season, defeating Mark Fen-ton in the final round at Fontana. Mike Lang was the top qualifier for the K&N Filters and Lucas Oil Prod-ucts sponsored fourth race of the Pro Gas season.
Bothe drove his Chevy-powered ‘78 Porsche to round wins over Doug Sedmak, Daniel McClelland,
and Greg Bonds before getting a bye in the semi’s. Mark Fenton, fresh off a win at the Fallon National Open, got to his first Pro Gas final or the year with wins over Gary Hesselbrock, Fontana divisional win-ner Dan Bain, Gary Mignacca, and Steve Parsons.
Bothe had a .025 better light in the final, and took the win with a 9.940, 143.06 to Fenton’s 9.916, 143.38.
Pete Bothe picked up his second win of the season when he defeated
Mark Fenton in the final round of the K&N/Lucas Oil Pro Gas race. Pete Bothe earned his second win of the season on Father’s Day.
Mark Fenton used a .011 package in the semifinal to defeat
Steve Parsons.

Dave Meziere sweeps SoCal Pro Gas series weekend at Fontana By Bob Johnson Auto Club Dragway Fontana, Calif. June 29-30, 2019
After missing the first four races of the 2019 Southern California Pro Gas Assoc., season, Dave Meziere made his presence know at
the fifth and sixth races of the 10-race series by sweeping the weekend doubleheader at Auto Club Dragway. Meziere defeated
Doug Sedmak in the Saturday afternoon final and Michael Boner in the Sunday final.
Meziere began his weekend with a first round win over 2018 Pro Gas champ Kevin McClelland, moved on to beat Steve Parsons in
round two and stopped Greg Ventura in the third round. In the semifinal he defeated Bob Hefley. Sedmak, the current Pro Gas
Shootout points leader, advanced to the final with wins over Pete Bothe, Greg Bonds, and Greg Martin. The Fix-Auto Collision/Pro
Gas-sponsored race final was decided on a double-breakout after Meziere had a .010 advantage at the ‘tree. Meziere’s ’03 Cavalier
took the win at 9.893, 170.13 to Sedmak’s Corvette, losing with a 9.856,
157.23. A special note of interest took place when Hefley made a perfect run
on his third round win over Mark Fenton, running 9.900 with a .000 reaction
time.
K&N Engineering and Lucas Oil Products sponsored the second race of the
weekend, and Meziere opened that event with a 9.900 pass after a .002 reac-
tion time to defeat Greg Bonds. He continued to the final by defeating Sed-
mak, Martin, and Hefley. Mike Boner got to his first Pro Gas final of the year
by defeating Gary Hesselbrock, Randy Kersey, and Mike Lang before getting
a bye into the final. Reaction times decided the final, with Meziere cutting
a .009 light and 9.936 time as Boner broke-out with a 9.857.
The Pro Gas season continues August 10-11, 2019 at Auto Club Dragway.
