Hi SoCal Chapter Members, Happy Spring! We wanted to bring you up to date with chapter news and activities. We are excited to announce that we are planning on having more educational and net- working activities for the coming year. The most recent one will be the SoCal Chapter Pub Crawl event , on Sunday, June 3rd, in San Diego. This is one day before the MRA National conference, being held at the Hilton Bayfront, in San Diego. We are very excited that the National conference will be in “our backyard”. Details regarding both of these events are in this newsletter. We, as a Board, recognizing that our members want more localized educational and net- working events, at affordable rates, made the decision to no longer be one of the sponsor- ing chapters in the Joint Chapter event, in Las Vegas. Please know that we definitely will still continue to promote this event and encourage attendance by our members, by send- ing event info and reminders. Myla Kovac and Tony Patino have been invited by the California Department of Educa- tion in Sacramento to participate in an informative gathering of industry professionals on local and state levels to help develop strong career pathways for high school students in marketing. This is a very exciting opportunity for our chapter, in that we will be a part of helping to pave the way for future market researchers. This will take place in Sacramento, May 4th, 2012. Please join us to support the 2012—2013 Chapter Board, by attending the Board Installa- tion & Mixer , planned for the end of June, in Long Beach. Stay tuned for further details. Our goal as a Board is to make decisions and implement programs that are beneficial to our membership, and we strongly encourage your involvement with chapter activities and its future.
