We design and build trade show exhibits that make the face-to-face
interactions you have with customers more rewarding.
Trina Solar: SPI 30x50
Assignment:
To create a beautiful, light weight, open 30x50 booth for
Trina Solar at Solar Power International 2016.
Challenge: Keeping the curves and structural elements clean and
modern using fabric, as well as giving the logo dimension
without printing directly to the fabric. Solution:
Structural base curbs and utilizing magnets were a big part
of our solution with this booth.
Elekta Assignment:
Giving Elekta a new look at each one of
their five major US shows throughout each
year.
Challenge:
Finding creative new ways to show and
present Elekta’s products while maintaining
their existing booth properties.
Solution:
Accent carpet colors are introduced into
the booth space to highlight specific
product areas. New innovative lighting is
also incorporated to give the booth a new
appeal.
Nanawall: Builder Tradeshows
Assignment:
To build a 20’ x 40’ tradeshow exhibition for Nanawall; a
Glass Door Systems company, with a Frank Lloyd
Wright influence.
Challenge:
The European door system is detailed and exact. In
order to showcase operating doors, the floor system
used had to be perfectly level.
Solution:
Engineering the entire structure to be able to level the
floor, and withstand movement when showcasing
multiple doors, during the show.
Simplehuman : IHHS 40x40 Assignment:
Thinking inside the box! Our assignment was to
design and build a clean, modern tradeshow booth out
of (2) 40’ shipping containers for Simplehuman. The
booth made its debut at the International Home &
Housewares show in Chicago.
Challenge: To create a retail environment-tradeshow booth that
was easily installed with minimal labor using two
shipping containers. Solution:
The hoodbe team created a booth that was ready to
go. The graphics and shelving units traveled attached
to the walls and with the help of hydraulics the booth
was opened with a push of a button. There were of
course the finishing touches that needed to be
completed, but minimal labor was used for the install
and dismantle of this booth.
SpinVox Assignment:
SpinVox, a relative newcomer in the voice-to-text
space, wanted to make a splash at the annual CTIA
trade show.
Challenge:
Freestate Design, London had created a colorful booth
design, but it had to be built in just 2 WEEKS.
Solution:
The Hood team kicked into overdrive, sourcing
materials, fabricating components, and ensuring reality
matched the designers vision.

We bring brands to life in themed environments, live events, mobile exhibits and more.
Yahoo! Launch AlleyAssignment:
Bring to life an architectural space that becomes the
intersection of the physical world with digital space.
Challenge:
Building an exhibit with the versatility that could satisfy
a nine month schedule here in North America and in
Europe.
Solution:
While engineering an inventory of components, the
properties can be arranged to satisfy all the particular
venues. The units can be split into three smaller stages
to accommodate different venues.
OBE/facebook: Community Boost Tour Assignment:
Hoodbe was selected to partner with OBE to very quickly bring
facebook partners into a traveling, cohesive brand activation.
The activation was created for small business owners to attend
and learn how to further grow their business using facebook and
the FB partners. The activation was called Community Boost
Tour and traveled to 30 different US cities.
Challenge:
Our biggest challenge was timing. We were given a little over
two weeks to create several activation pieces for this tour, one
kit for each coast was created. We needed to find readily
available materials that didn’t stray far from the approved
design. We worked quickly to source materials and got to work
on the build. In the process of moving quickly the hexagon
designs presented their own problem with their unique angles.
Solution:
We broke our shop out in teams and worked uniformly side by
side. We started with the wood, cut and treated all pieces
before assembly began. At the same time we started the
specialty items that we needed the most time with . We pre-fit
the shelves into the trapezoid uprights before laminating and
increased the notches to accommodate the angles. Our team
work is what helped us to successfully complete this project on
time.
AAA: Mobile Offices
Assignment:
To create two mobile offices for AAA Insurance. AAA wanted to
test out new marketplaces without investing in a full blown store
branch, so the hoodbe team created the next best thing for
them, a branch on wheels.
Challenge:
Nothing in a vehicle is square, or the same as one another. Each
van was measured and test fit before the interiors were finished
out.
Solution:
We measured and measured again before creating templates for
almost everything. We wanted our mobile units to stand apart
and we engineered and manufactured them to do just that. With
flawless interiors that match specific design elements from a
AAA branch to the ease of operating the vehicle with a bottom
mounted, fuel linked generator. We certainly helped AAA
#OutsmartLife with this one!
IMGLive/Courtyard Marriott: Levis Stadium Suite
Assignment:
We were challenged with the task of transforming a
Levis stadium sky box into a Courtyard Marriot hotel
suite for a once in a lifetime Super bowl 50 fan
experience.
Challenge: The suite had to have all the luxuries of a deluxe hotel
suite with the flexibility to be converted back into a VIP
Sky box for the big game in the span of two hours.
Solution:
Modular walls were utilized to quickly change the
furniture configuration of the space as well as offer an
easy way to change graphics to achieve the two
looks.
IMGLive/Courtyard Marriott: 620 Jones St.
Assignment: We were asked to transform a downtown bar into a one of a kind, VIP, Super Bowl 50 celebration space for the executives of Courtyard Marriott Hotels. Challenge: The space has urban industrial décor and the design needed to feel very high-end and luxurious. Solution: A balance was established with theatrical lighting and a variety of textures and materials to give each piece a unique look and feel to maximize the impact on the overall branding of the space. Everything down to the smallest details were executed impeccably to seamlessly integrate the design into the existing space.

SVEDKA: Mobile Event Tour
Assignment:
To help create a traveling event space worthy of
unleashing Svedka Vodka’s new flavors, Orange
Cream Pop and Strawberry Colada.
Challenge:
The event took place outside, in 32 different locations
through the U.S. We engineered it to withstand
various winds, light rains & even extreme heat.
Solution:
We engineered the roof canopies with a drainage
system in mind, to keep water from seeping into the
booth. Each cube was also equipped with an AC unit.
Fetzer : Shoreline
Assignment: To design and build a temporary Fetzer bar within Shoreline amphitheater space. A relaxing destination for attendees to visit. Challenge: Along with the timeline and venue itself as a challenge, we also had the added bonus of making this temporary structure pass permanent structure requirements with the city. Solution: Hood created a permanent base to the structure for approvals that could easily pack up and go back to the initial concept of temporary.
Legends: Super Bowl City-SF Assignment:
To create (8) mobile commercial kitchens that could
be used at multiple outdoor events offering flexibility
preparing a variety of different cuisines and menus.
Challenge:
Building a self-sufficient unit that has all of the
required utilities including gas, electric, clean and
waste water while maintaining a modular mobile unit
that can be packed up and shipped anywhere in the
world at a moments notice. Solution:
By using shipping containers, industrial grade
appliances and innovative engineering solutions we
were able to create the commercial kitchen units
worthy of any chefs needs.

YETI: Flagship Store
Assignment:
Hood was selected to partner with YETI
coolers and their extensive advertisement
and design team to fabricate the retail
fixtures for the first flagship store located in
Austin TX.
Challenge:
Engineering and sourcing unique industrial
building materials and finishes to achieve the
raw authentic aesthetic the client was
envisioning.
Solution:
3” iron steam pipe, thick cuts of solid oak
stained with a weathered finish, aged metal,
and raw steel gave the fixtures the
deconstructed look the project was looking
for.
GoPro: Store in Store Assignment:
Create a unique shopping experience with a GoPro
store in store at Fry’s electronics store for GoPro.
Challenge: Develop an environment that would set GoPro apart
and draw consumers in from anywhere in the store.
We produced a unique and modular showcase to
display a large majority of the GoPro products and
accessories. The display also has the ability to break
down into smaller configurations for smaller footprint
locations.
Solution: With the use of aluminum curves and clean lines we
were able to create a modular, light weight structure
that welcomes and intrigues store consumers.
Nintendo World Store
Assignment:
To update the Nintendo World Store in Rockefeller
Center to celebrate Nintendo’s 25th anniversary &
showcase new products.
Challenge:
The timeline in which the entire renovation had to be
completed, was 10 days.
Solution:
Modularity of built-in sales components, enabled us to
accelerate the turn around time.
Sony Playstation Assignment:
Create a retail experience in 1,100 Best Buy stores for
the launch of the PS Vita.
Challenge:
Elevate the brand, engage consumers, and create
excitement for the PS Vita within a big box store
environment.
Solution:
A plug-and-play design of end-cap displays with
interactive demo stations, and touch screens that
support the pre-sale of new games and accessories.
Sitka Assignment:
Create a unique rack to be easily identified in a large
department store, a store within a store.
Challenge:
Creating a unique display area for the Sitka brand
while staying within the department store guidelines.
Solution:
A four foot and a six foot textured metal floor fixture
with accents of the sitka orange. Hood created two
headers that stood above standard retail racks that
provided flexibility for easily changing out messaging
and graphics.
hoodbe does sports:

We strengthen the fan experience with exciting brand activation and design.
Coors Light Party Deck Assignment:
Activate the Coors Light brand with an environment
that demonstrates the brand’s love for baseball and the
die hard fan.
Challenge:
How to take a fairly undesirable seating location in
AT&T Park and make it a destination fans will love?
Solution:
A truly ‘cush’ environment with an underfloor heating
system, more comfortable bar-like stools, a place to
mingle, and plenty of Coors Light.
San Francisco Giants Trophy Case
Assignment: We were asked to collaborate
with a local Architecture firm to build a
museum quality display case that would
house the three World Series Trophies and
Championship Rings for public view at
AT&T Park.
Challenge: To build a beautiful case that
was secure from the elements and
protected the extremely valuable display
inside.
Solution: We manufactured frameless
security glass, hermetically sealed cases,
with a climate control system that weighed
over 5000 lbs.
Coors Light Suite at AT&T park:
Assignment: We collaborated with GMR
marketing to create a more upscale suite for
the Coors Light fans at AT&T park.
Concrete walls, etched glass, halo channel
letters and a rotating bat display.
Challenge: To create an upscale, modern
room within a room. We were asked not to
drill into the current walls, which was the
biggest challenge.
Solution: We manufactured a frame to put
onto the existing wall which we then hung
our concrete panels on.
49er’s: Levis Faithful Mile
Assignment:
To create a pregame destination out of (21) shipping
containers for fans prior to each 49ers home game in
their new location in Santa Clara, also known as
Levi’s® Stadium.
Challenge:
The largest challenge is that everything is set up the
day of a 49ers home game and the 49ers will have to
close up and remove all containers from the lot after
each game. Solution:
Hood created an ingenious way of moving these
containers in and out in a timely manner to provide a
temporary solution with a permanent feel.
hoodbe does museums:
