History Seminars Series of lectures The Centre for the History of Ibero-America at Leeds University and in collaboration with Instituto Cervantes Leeds organise a History Seminar. It will take a short text from a published literary work in French, Italian, Portuguese and Spanish to compare and contrast to produce a translation into English from the original text. Cervantes’ DayThe 23rd of April, 1616 saw the deaths of both Shakespeare and Cervantes. This date was so important for universal literature that was chosen by UNESCO to celebrate World Book Day and to pay homage to the writers and to promote the importance of reading. The Instituto Cervantes joins this celebration and organises related events: book market, poetry reading in the four official languages of Spain and a workshop for kids about Cervantes.
