data even easier and what’s more it only takes one click.

Our Data Enrichment Services allow you to keep your data as clean as possible, so your

fundraising efforts aren’t hampered by old addresses, bad phone numbers and missing donor

information. The last thing you want to do is waste time and money on efforts that lead to dead

ends because you have bad information.

Process Flow Once your Blackbaud representative is aware of your interest in receiving Data Enrichment Services, the below is a high level process flow.

After reviewing your Audit Report with Blackbaud, if you decide to move forward with your Data Enrichment Service, you follow the next set of steps:

Step 1) Exporting and your Raiser’s Edge Data and Formatting

Supplying data to Blackbaud in the correct format will improve efficiency and accuracy. For full

instructions please refer to the Mailwise Data Preparation Guide.

Blackbaud can accept almost any file format including but not limited to: CSV, TEXT and SQL. - Where possible our preferred data format is a CSV file with field headers in the first row with the use of double quotes (“name”) as the text qualifier. Text files should consist of ASCII characters and use the western European code page.

Blackbaud data security very seriously and have published a full data security policy which can be

Step 2) Create and/or login to your FTP Site

FTP Account Creation Process

1) Use either Internet Explorer Goggle Chrome or Firefox

2) Click here for the Blackbaud Data Enrichment Services FTP, this will take you to your FTP

Portal to create you FTP Account

3) Click on Signup

4) Fill in your name and a user name. ******Very Important: The USER NAME should be in

the format “Mailwise_YourOrganisationNameSiteID” ******* Please remember not to

use spaces. If you do, there may be delays to processing your request. If your site id is not

known, proceed as normal.

5) Create your own password or click “Generate” to have a password created for you. Be sure

to copy this password and keep it somewhere safe as you will NOT receive an email

containing this password. If you choose to create your own password, it must be 10

characters, contain both upper and lower case letters and at least 1 number.

6) After checking box for “I’m not a robot.”, click the “Sign up” button and wait for the process

to complete.

7) You will then receive a message under the login fields that your site has been created

successfully. Additionally, you will receive an automated email confirming your account has

been created.

8) You will be redirected to the login page and you can now use your username and password

to login to your FTP Site. If you forget your login or password, please follow the next set of

directions below. Please note you will be locked out after 5 incorrect login attempts.

How to Reset your Password

If you have already created your FTP site login and forgotten your username, if you followed the

correct formatting, it should be “Mailwise_YourOrganisationNameSiteID” Please do not enter any

spaces in the username.

If you have forgotten your password, please follow the below instructions and please note you will

be locked out after 5 incorrect login attempts:

1) Use either Internet Explorer Goggle Chrome or Firefox

2) Click here for the Blackbaud Data Enrichment Services FTP, this will take you to the login

page of the FTP Portal.

3) Click on Reset Password

4) Enter your Username and Click on Reset Password

5) You will receive an automated message and email saying “Password reset successfully” and be redirected to the login screen.

6) Go to your email to retrieve your new temporary password

7) Log back into FTP Portal and click on Log In

8) This will then force you to change this password, minimum of 10 characters, containing both upper-case and lower-case characters and at least one number.

9) You are now logged back in, and can proceed with your file upload.

How to Upload your Raiser’s Edge Database Export File to Your FTP (from

the first Process Step)

1) Use either Internet Explorer Goggle Chrome or Firefox

2) Log into your FTP Platform using your username and password. See above instructions for

FTP Site Creation or Password Reset instructions.

3) When you have logged onto your FTP Portal, Double Click on Customer Supplied Data

Folder.

4) Click on the Upload Button at the top of the portal screen.

5) You will then have to browse for the file you would like to upload. You will have two

options how to upload your file.

1. Double Click on your file.

2. Click on file name and click on Open

6) You will now see a progress bar showing the status of the file you are uploading.

7) When your file has finished uploading you will see your file move from In Progress to

Completed.

8) Your file has now been uploaded and you should receive an automated email

confirmation that your file has uploaded successfully. Blackbaud and the CCR team will

also receive this automated notification to kick off the Audit Report process.

9) Now simply wait for your Blackbaud representative to contact you with your Audit Report

results.

How to Download your final Raiser’s Edge file from the FTP Site once the

Data Enrichment Services have completed

After you have reviewed your Audit Report with Blackbaud and confirmed you would like to move

forward with the data enrichment service, you will eventually receive an email confirming your final

processed file is ready to be picked up from your FTP Site.

1) Use either Internet Explorer Goggle Chrome or Firefox

2) Log into your FTP Platform using your username and password. See above instructions for

FTP Site Creation or Password Reset instructions.

3) When you have logged onto your FTP Portal, Double Click on Processed Data Folder.

4) Click the checkbox next to the file you would like to download and click the “Download

button” near the top right of the portal screen.

5) Check your download folder and download the file. Follow the next set of instructions to

learn how to upload this finalised data file to your Raiser’s Edge.
