DELEGATION OF THAILAND

• 1. Miguel House in Nakorn Sawan• Started 1983.• Educational deficiency: Only 18% of students

have access to secondary education in Nakorn Sawan.

• Answer: 150 scholarships for secondary level students, plus free hostel for 50 students.

• Closed down in 2006.

Started in 1986Problem:Children of garbage collectors get only 1-2 years of education.

3. Center for Small childrenAnswer: Prepare children to go to school. Pre-school education. Aged 3-7. Completely free

4. La Salle HouseStarted 1987;Problem : Street children, children with parents in prison, with aged grandparents do not go to school

30 children whose parents died during the sunami.Children did not receive any help from nobody

80 boys and girls with 5 teachers. Burmese border. Teachers got no pay.

Conclusion 11. It looks like a lot projects;

however this is less than 10% of the works of running our big

institutions.2. A lot of difficulties were found on

the way.3. The work of transforming our

educational works to serve the poor is not understood .

Conclusion 2

1. Today it is less scandalous (dangerous) to speak about the poor

than 20 years ago.2. Many Brothers have no sympathy

for the educational needs of poor children.

3. The Service of the poor though education seems to have become

the work of a minority.
