Efficient Computation of Point Multiplication in the

Implementation of Elliptic Curve Cryptography

Bh . Padma*, D.Chandravathi Department of Computer Applications, GVP College for Degree and PG Courses, Yendada,

Rushikonda, Visakhapatnam-45, India

Abstract In recent times, elliptical curves have been used for public-key cryptographic and

signature schemes in information security. The security provided by elliptic curve

cryptographic protocols, either using signature or public-key encryption, is entirely based on the discrete logarithm problem. The discrete logarithm problem says that for

a given a point Q that is a certain multiple k of a fixed point P, how to find the value of

k in a reasonably amount of time. The difficulty of the discrete logarithm problem can only be exploited if scalar multiplications are easy to obtain. But fortunately, a point

multiplication can always be computed in linear time, nonetheless this operation needs to be optimized as much as possible. Because of there is much concentration on

reducing the speed of the scalar multiplication, several methods have been developed

for improvisation. This paper describes implementations and test results of Elliptic Curve Cryptography (ECC). The paper deals with the problem of improving the

performance of point multiplication using Binary method and Addition - Subtraction method. These methods reduce the number of point doublings and point additions in

the computation. Also this paper insists the application of these two proposed methods

for point multiplication.

Personal Authentication-Based Fingerprint Recognition

Abstract As our society has become more and more electronically connected and more

proxy representations of identity such as passwords cannot be trusted to establish

a person’s identity, biometrics offers a natural and reliable solution to certain

aspects of identity management by utilizing fully automated or semi-automated

schemes to recognize individuals based on their inherent physical and/or

behavioral characteristics. Human fingerprints contain details called minutiae,

which can be used as identification marks for fingerprint verification. The main

goal is to develop a fingerprint verification system through extracting and

matching minutiae. To extract good minutiae from fingerprints, preprocessing is

applied in the form of image enhancement and binarization on fingerprints prior to

their evaluation. Many techniques have been combined to build a minutia extractor

and a minutia matcher. This system is capable of finding the correspondences

between input pattern and the stored template pattern without resorting to

exhaustive search. Evaluation of the developed system is done over a database

with fingerprints from different people.

Abstract The increased use of computer communication systems has increased risk of data theft.

Cryptography is the most important aspect of communication, security and becoming

an important building block for computer security. Elliptic curve cryptography is one

of the most widely used public key algorithms for secure exchange of information. In this paper, the authors present time comparison of encryption and decryption using

ECC for text messages.

Abstract Cloud computing is one of the option knowledge for the banking Institutions with its

vibrant scalability and handling of virtualized hardware assets as a tune-up through

the Internet. It is a first-rate substitute for banking institutions to maneuver their information systems effectively. Banks can take benefit of existing cloud-based

applications accessible by service providers and facilitate their own clientele to act upon different financial transactions. This paper is an analysis more specific to the

diverse security issues that are associated with relevant to financial dealings made by

the authorized customer as well as the internal transactions of the banks. Especially in the Banks where the use of computers are more intensive and there has been a lot of

inconsistency with sharing of transactional data between Banking Institutions and their customers. This results in delay of transactional processing’s and also incoherent

dealings and other inefficiencies. These issues can be minimized by using the

virtualization of the community cloud technology in banking systems on a pay on use basis, now the customer can have the capability to do various types of transactional

handing out by having way in to the core banking systems from anywhere.

Abstract Digital forensics has progressed rapidly but much more is required, including

developing more sophisticated techniques for acquiring and analyzing digital evidence, increasing scientific rigor in our work, and also professionalizing the field.

This paper surveys the area of digital forensics, with the aim of systematizing the existing techniques which is useful for promoting future research. The authors first

present the unique aspects and also the tools used in digital forensics. Finally, they

summarize the lessons learnt and discuss future research opportunities in the area of

portable devices like smart phones, IoS devices, etc.
