Easter Holiday – March 28Cesar Chavez Holiday – March 31Pastoral Center is Closed Regular Daily Mass Schedule

The fifty days from Easter Sunday to Pentecost are celebrated with joyful exaltation as a feas day, or better as one “great Sunday.” The Church celebrates the Paschal Mystery on the first day of the week, known as the Lord’s Day. This follows a tradition from the apostles, having its origin from the day of Christ’s Resurrection. Thus Sunday must be ranked as the first holy day of all. The passion, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ began a new

age: the age of a new creation when God and humanity are reconciled in Christ. The mystery of our life in God through Christ in the Spirit is cel-ebrated primarily in the Sunday Eucharist of the believing community.

Our entire Parish & School Staff joins together in extending to you our best wishes and all of the joy of Easter. Since Easter is fifty days long, we will have many opportunities to greet you personally and to thank you for the life you bring to St. Thomas Aquinas Parish.

We extend a word of appreciation to all who made donations of, or offer-ings toward our Easter flowers and plants, to all those involved in our Triduum Liturgies, as well as those who decorated our church. Thanks to all who sacrificed to make our Holy Week as prayerful, enjoyable, and inviting as it has been.

We also extend a warm welcome to those who are visitors to our Parish. We are happy you chose to celebrate Easter with us. We extend an invita-tion to you to become a regular part of our Parish community. The bulletin cover lists our Mass times and phone numbers. Please call us, if we can help. Welcome, again, and a Blessed Easter to you. Fr. Matt, Pastor

Our parish will be taking food to the homeless guests at the Church of Christ April 1st - April 15th. Ruth Chippendale will be at Sunday Masses during the month of March to give folks an opportunity to sign up to bring food. If you miss Ruth after Mass and would like to help, please call her at (650) 856-6350.

spIrItualIty tuesday, aprIl 5Teaching the Holocaust in a Catholic University with speaker Dr. Miriam Zimmerman of Notre Dame de Namur University

Come take a fresh look at a topic which we all know something about. Part lecture, part performance piece, part history lesson, and part prayer, this presentation will either provide some answers to your questions about the Holocaust, or perhaps, prompt you to ask new questions. This will be a view of The Holocaust through the eyes of educator, Miriam Zimmerman. After 22 years of teaching the Holocaust, Miriam has come to the conclu-sion that she can reach more people with her message in the lecture hall than in the classroom. Please join us for an educational, yet prayerful evening. Saint Albert the Great Hospitality Room 7:00 to 8:30 pm. Miriam Zimmerman, Ed.D. has taught the Holocaust class at Notre Dame de Namur University (NDNU) in Belmont, CA, since 1995.

The Knights of Columbus Crab Dinner, Dance and Silent Auction has morphed this year into an upscale Italian dinner entitled "A Night in Tuscany". The event will be held April 16th in the Seton Auditorium after the 5 pm Mass. Expect the same enchanting room decorations, the same excellent cooking, Italian-themed music for listening and dancing, and great wine. You will not want to miss out on this amazing event for 3 reasons: the food, the fun and the Auction! The auction is full of items, services, and events, that will ensure our parish is engaged in activities for months to come. If you have a nice item for the auction, please drop it off at the Pastoral Center. If you are offering an event or service (such as baby-sitting, a dinner, or a wine tasting) contact Jerry Lucha directly with a brief description of the donation (650-424-9660 / [email protected]). Tickets go on sale Easter Sunday. None will be sold at the door. Get your tickets from any member of the Knights, join your friends and enjoy a wonderful evening in fellowship with our Parish Family! We invite you to join us!

get ready For dIvIne MerCy sunday

On the day of the second anniversary of his pontificate, Pope Francis made the major announcement of a jubilee year dedicated to the theme of mercy, beginning on the Solemnity of the Immaculate Conception, Dec. 8. and concluding on the feast of Christ the King, Nov. 20, 2016.”I am convinced that the whole Church will find in this jubilee the joy needed to rediscover and make fruitful the mercy of God, with which all of us are called to give consolation to every man and woman of our time,” Pope Francis said. “From this moment, we entrust this holy year to the Mother of Mercy, that she might turn her gaze upon us and watch over our journey.”We will pray the Chaplet of Divine Mercy at the conclusion of the 10:30am Mass at Our Lady of the Rosary on April 3.
