STAR WRITERS The following students have been chosen by their teachers as Star writers and will be congratulated at our school assembly on Friday the 26th June 2015.

LL: Jack Boyle from Little Langies made his own book that consisted of 8 pages of writing and pictures with great detail, Jack then added his own QR code for the rest of the class to hear him read when scanned.

Prep: Akshaya Saravanakaumar from prep 2 wrote about her favourite pet ‘Dog’. Akshaya was able to include all the pet’s needs in her writing. Akshaya was able to use a capital letter for the start of her sentence, spaces between her words, attempt to spell complex words and can use punctuation. Great effort Akshaya!

Grade 1: Audrey Bath from 1/18 wrote a recount about her visit to the fire brigade with her classmates. She had learnt many new things about keeping safe during a fire.

Grade 2: Maddy Norrish from 2/26 has written a narrative about ‘Mums Special Day’. Her story included conversation and some very interesting vocabulary. Terrific effort Maddy.

Grade 3: Tex Thripp from 3/23 wrote a recount about his excursion to the Cranbourne Botanic Gardens. He included great detail and used lots of descriptive language. Well done Tex!

Grade 4: Penny Hofen from 4/13 has written an excellent persuasive text to encourage children to ride their bikes to school.

Grade 5: Charlotte D from 5/8 wrote about the grade 5 Aqua Package. She described each activity very well using many WOW words.

Grade 6: Megan Gray from 6/12 wrote a narrative text titled “Worm Hole” based on the 1969 moon landing with a strange plot twist. The crew involuntarily travelled through a worm hole, coming out the other end as their 12-year old selves.

All of the work will be displayed outside the Principals Office. Please feel free to come and admire our talented students work. Report prepared by Katie Nelson and Lucy O`Reilly. Class captains from 6/12.

BOOK CLUB Returning in Term 3!! Scholastic Book Club will be available via a new online ordering system ‘Loop’. Order forms will be distributed early in the Term. COVERING NEW BOOKS We have many new books and welcome willing volunteers interested in doing some covering at home during the holidays. Call into the Library or enquire at the Front Office. The children gain such motivation to read when brand new books appear on the shelves! HAPPY HOLIDAYS Wow what a wonderful term in the Library! We have enjoyed many activities which have inspired fabulous artworks, written pieces and of course READING! Our Library Leaders have done an incredible job caring for our books and we warmly thank all our volunteers. Growing in our Library during the holidays will be our Enchanted Tree...so come in and have a look when we return for Term 3! Kate Mowat Library Assistant

Hi everyone, Just in case you are doing any spring cleaning over the holidays, please keep us in mind if you have any books you would like to donate to the school. We’re looking for lots of suitable reading material to assist the implementation of our DAILY CAFE reading program. You might have books, comics or children’s magazines which we might be able to use. If you have any donations, please just bring them up to the office and place them under the bench in the foyer or pass them onto your classroom teacher to distribute. Thanks so much for your support Ms. Debbie Haddow, Mrs. Brenda

Petkovic and Mrs. Sharon Taylor.
