experience in offshore developments, Al Tawazun is perfectly poised to deliver a wide spectrum of

consultant services. These services include:

A.Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA)

Being Al Tawazun’s main area of expertise, our team is fully qualified to

undertake all aspects of an EIA study for a diversity of project types, from

artificial island developments, mixed-use and waterfront developments to

industrial facilities. Our work includes the preparation of baseline studies,

the actual impact assessment of various environmental, social and

economic aspects - positive and negative - weighted on a significance

scale, and the preparation of realistic and economically feasible mitigation

measures and the implementation of monitoring procedures. We also act

as coordinators, liaising between the client and the relevant authority to

ensure the client obtains the approval for their respective projects.

Page 9: Environment

B. Environmental Baseline Surveys

The baseline study forms the core of the entire EIA report. It is the

platform on which the EIA study is based and can then move forward.

Through its extensive network of experts, Al Tawazun can offer to

undertake a variety of environmental surveys such as air quality (air

quality dispersion modelling), sediment and water quality (sampling,

comparison of results of laboratory analysis with local and international

regulations), noise and traffic assessments etc.

C. Environmental Management Plan

Based on the findings of the EIA report (and the assessment of the

cumulative and residual impacts and mitigation measures), Al Tawazun

can develop a comprehensive environmental management plan (EMP)

broken down into a Construction Environmental Management Plan

(CEMP) and Operation Environmental Management Plan (OEMP). By

doing this, contractor’s requirements (for CEMP) and facility management

requirements (OEMP) are integrated and streamlined with the long-term

monitoring procedures to ensure proper execution of mitigation measures

and assess performance against the plan for the duration of the project.
