TRANSCRIPT
SINCE 1968, GateWay Community College has built a legacy of innovation, pioneering vision and responsiveness to the needs of our community with many firsts—the first technical college in Arizona; first to use community advisory committees; first to tailor courses to the needs of business and industry; and first to offer classes at off-campus locations.
Today, we continue to grow, innovate and seek opportunities that aid in the evolution of our institution. We now have five locations conveniently located across the Valley and recently expanded our footprint at our SouthWest Skill Center. In total, we are the most comprehensive college within the Maricopa County Community College District, providing three distinct program areas – University Transfer, Professional and Technical Education, and Trade and Technical Training. In addition, the college recently added the Center for Noncredit Training and Workforce Excellence, offering affordable, short-term non-credit workshops and courses to complement our credit and clock programs.
The entrepreneurial spirit of the college is alive in the Center for Entrepreneurial Innovation, which has been serving small businesses and entrepreneurs in bioscience, medical devices, clean technology, and software since 2012. CEI recently opened space in the Biomedical Campus called LabForce to further serve our clients. To complement the CEI and our educational offerings, we also recently opened Phoenix Forge, the largest makerspace in Arizona.
Together, the college offers more than 160 degree and certificate programs to fit your life, your budget, and your goals for the future. It’s no coincidence our motto is, “Education that works, so you learn more, live better.”
