Students under 19 at 31 August 2011 Plymouth College of Art Financial Help Available to Further Education students at Plymouth College of Art 2011/2012 After we have awarded bursaries to the most vulnerable young people; we can consider applications from other students who face financial hardship. Eligible students will come from households where their parents/carers are in receipt of income based Jobseekers Allowance or Income Support. Awards will be made in four instalments over the course of the academic year. Mainstream Bursary 16-19 Bursary The new 16-19 Bursary has been introduced this year to support the most vulnerable young people to participate in and benefit from fur- ther education. Students considered the most vulnerable are eligible for a £1200 bursary. These students are those from the following groups: • Young people in care •Care leavers •Young people in receipt of Income Support •Disabled young people in receipt of Employ- ment Support Allowance and who are also in receipt of Disability Living Allowance We hope to make small awards to any new student who is under 19 on 31st August 2011 and whose household income is below £15,000 per annum. amount of any award until we have calculat- ed the amount of fund remaining after all vulnerable student groups have received their allocation. Childcare Bursaries are available for studentsaged 20 and older on low incomes to fund childcare with a provider who is Ofsted- registered (Early Years Register for children age 0-5, Compulsory Childcare Register for 5-8 and Voluntary Childcare Register for over 8’s).

Childcare Bursaries

Care to LearnStudents aged 19 and under who requireassistance with childcare can apply for Careto learn which is administered centrally. Please make an appointment with the StudentFunding team who will assist you with yourapplication.

Residential BursariesHelp with accommodation costs for studentswho have to move to Plymouth to study.Please see our separate leaflet for details.ApplyingApplications for Discretionary Support Fundsare through the MIS Student Portal and mustbe supported with relative financial evidence.
