IntroductionWelcome to the Feltham Parks Public Consultation.

The London Borough of Hounslow are looking at ways of improving Feltham’s Green Spaces, and we would like your comments!

The Feltham Parks Masterplan is specifi cally looking at improving the local green spaces to inspire more people to be active, create safer spaces and with more relevant facilities. This Masterplan will be informed by local residents and also the wider regeneration plan for the area which is already underway known as the Feltham Masterplan.

The Masterplan will produce plans to improve the following green spaces: 1 - Feltham Park 2 - Feltham Arena3 - Glebelands Park4 - Poet’s Corner (Poor’s Piece)5 - Blenheim Park6 - Feltham Green

The following set of display boards show the fi rst design ideas for the various areas of Feltham Parks and Feltham Green. The proposals include a number of potential options, and we are very keen to hear what you think. Please make sure that you complete a survey form on these options before you leave which includes multiple choice questions as well as space for your comments.

Other studiesThere are currently two Masterplan studies being carried out in Feltham. The Town Centre Masterplan by Urban Initiatives Studio is looking to analyse the challenges and opportunities in Feltham to inform a strategy for the future through a Vision Masterplan.

The Feltham Parks Masterplan is solely looking at improvements to the Park, and any proposals will feed into the Town Centre Masterplan.

Clymping Dene Pond suffers poor water quality, areas of overgrown vegetation, severed paths and offers low ecological value

Tennis and basketball courts are tired and dominate the street frontage

Bowling green is unused, acts as a barrier and visual screen of the park from the street, and attracts anti-social behaviour

Park

Dense areas of vegetation feels unsafe for many

Blenheim is isolated from the rest of the site due to few

access routes, and for some is completely unaccessible

Existing bridge is stepped, creating diffi culty in access for

Fruen Road has a dead end, with no direct access into the

Park

Car park is underused and generally kept locked

View down Shakespeare Avenue to the Park is of the

mound and not pedestrian friendly

Poet’s Corner (Poor’s Piece) suffers from excessive dog mess, litter and anti-social

behaviour

shaping, blocks key sight-lines and views, and provides little vegetation or ecological value
