Cathedral Garage Sale The Cathedral Garage Sale is coming soon! Please drop off gently used items in the school gym on Tuesday, May 29 from 6pm-8pm and Wednesday, May 30 from 8am-4pm. Gently used items include: furniture, outdoor items, household items, baby and child items, linens, husker items, seasonal items. NO adult clothing or TVs. Monetary donations also accepted.
Knights Mowing Schedule The Cathedral Knights have volunteered to mow the Church grounds this summer. Each bulletin will announce the mowers for the following weekend. The bolded name is the point of contact. May 5 group: Robert Koerner, Christopher Kolbet, Robert Korensky, Todd Korensky: 402-423-2682, Gerald Korinek, Tom Korta, and William Kouma. Bring your own lawn mower, weed whacker for trimming, and blower for cleaning up sidewalks. All mowing is to be mulching, no bagging. Set mowers at highest setting. The Church lawn is from the white statue between the rectory and the chancery to the west corner of the school. LOTW Internal Coordinator Meeting
The Light of the World Internal Coordinator meeting is Saturday, May 12 at 8am in Rector’s Hall. We will be discussing how sales went during the Fish Fry, Rekindle in June, and Reunion in September. Please have a member from your community there. God bless.
Mother’s Day Carnations
PCCW will be selling Mother’s Day carnations after all the Masses the weekend of May 12 and 13. Proceeds will support the work of Birthright. Suggested donation is $2.00.
PCCW Installation Mass
The PCCW installation Mass is Wednesday, May 9 at 6pm with dinner to follow in Rectors Hall. Sign-ups are available in the back of church. Please sign up by Monday, May 7. If you have always wondered about a circle, you are welcome to attend! Questions, please call Rita at 402-310-1762.

Lincoln MOMs Join us Saturday, May 5, at Gianna’s Java and Gelato (in the Guadalupe Center) from 8:30-10:30am as we honor our mother, Mary, and all mothers during the month of May. Enjoy a recipe exchange (bring 10 copies of your favorite recipe) and social time while giving back to moms in need at St. Gianna Women’s Home (www.st giannas.org). Tutors Still Needed!
Cathedral School needs tutors to support the WINGS Dyslexia program, under the guidance of CRC’s nationally certified instructor Mrs. Sheri Baumgartner. Contact [email protected] if interested and can volunteer 30-45 minutes twice a week.

CK Sisters Outdoor Spring Workday The Christ the King Sisters’ outdoor spring workday is Saturday, May 5 from 1pm-4pm. They will plant a vegetable garden, clean up flowerbeds, and cut down trees. Helpful items to bring include gloves, pruning shears, clippers, wheelbarrows, shovels, rakes, pickups, chain saws, and energy! Children are welcome! Fr. Kosch’s Anniversary Party An open house for Fr. Leo Kosch’s 25th Anniversary of his ordination is this Sunday, April 29, from 2pm-4pm in the lower level community room at Cornhusker Bank: 8310 O Street (north side of O Street next to Aldi). Parking and access to the building is located on the north side of the bank. All are invited to attend!
Lincoln Marathon
The 2018 Lincoln Marathon is Sunday, May 6 from 7am-1pm. Runners have the right of way during the race. Areas to avoid are North/South routes from 10th St. to 56th St. and Normal to Hwy 2. South 70th St. will be open for the entirety of the race. Be patient and lets show the thousands of participants why Lincoln is a great place to live!

Dear Parishioners,
This weekend, April 28-29, we embark on our annual Diocesan Charity and Stewardship Appeal (CSA).
Through the foresight of our Lincoln diocesan bishops, past and present, we continue to cultivate a
stewardship of love in deed and truth. Our Lincoln diocese and parishes are the direct beneficiaries of
this ongoing program of over 45 years.
Last year, parishioners of the Cathedral of the Risen Christ pledged $250,000. This resulted in
approximately $230,000 being returned to our parish and the remaining $20,000 to the good works of
our diocese*. As you can see the Charity and Stewardship Appeal has a significant and positive impact
on our parish needs and finances.
Along with the support of our Cathedral school, last year’s campaign did help in improvements to our
facilities. Yet, the need continues as our facilities continue to show signs of increased age and need
attention. Cathedral parishioners are known for their goodness, generosity and fidelity, and when there
is a need the response is outstanding. With that noted, it can be even better this year with a goal of
increased parishioner participation and a 10% increase in your annual gift.
We at Cathedral are so blessed to have excellent leadership in our parish, our school and the numerous
organizations that support our Catholic faith. Furthermore, we all have a want or need to be good
stewards of the gifts we receive, and in turn we administer those gifts through the grace of God.
Starting this weekend, pledge cards will be available in the vestibule to make your pledge. In advance
of this weekend, please take a few minutes to prayerfully consider making a pledge and also pray for the
success of this appeal. No pledge amount is too large or too small, but your participation is key to our
parish’s sustainment and success. On-line pledges are also available through the Charity and Stewardship
website below.
