Victorian Junior Chess Championship During the July school holidays I competed in the Victorian Junior Chess Championship which was held at the Knox School in Wantirna South. I competed in the Under 10 (age as at 1/1/17) Girls section along with some friends from the Canterbury Junior Chess Club. It was a big tournament that went for two full days but was also a lot of fun for me as during the round breaks we all got to play outside on the school grounds. This was the hardest tournament I had ever competed in as it included the current U10 Australian Girls champion. I made new friends and by the end of this tournament I had achieved four wins from seven rounds and finished fifth. I was happy with how I played and with fifth place as I thought I might only achieve a couple of wins. Jennifer Morrison (4K) DET Parent Opinion Survey 2017 The Department of Education and Training (DET) 2017 Parent Opinion Survey will be completed online by parents from 7 August to 27 August and all schools are required to participate. All members of Mitchell House will be able to enjoy a free BBQ sausage provided by GPA and cooked by John Tinetti on Tuesday 25th July. Great work everyone!

School Uniform A reminder to please ensure your child is dressed in the GHPS correct uniform every day. The school really does pride itself on all students wearing the uniform correctly, and does not want this spoiled by some students continuing to wear non-school colours.

Please contact the office if you need any further assistance.

2018 Prep Enrolments We would like all families who have pre-schoolers starting school next year to please get their enrolment forms into the office as soon as possible as planning is already well underway for transition and the November and December dates which are on the school’s website.
