Exploring KauaiRelaxing and pristine Kauai (the Garden Island) is the least commercially developed of the Hawaiian islands. Waterfalls, scenic drives and more than 60 beaches dot the landscape. Some beaches have great snorkeling, others offer child-friendly tidal pools and some are perfect for all kinds of water sports. Dry-land activities include hiking the Kalalau Trail on the Na Pali coastline, taking a day trip to Waimea Canyon and

experiencing life on a sugar plantation at Grove Farm Homestead Museum.

Kauai’s South Shore is home to some of the country’s best beaches—for swimming, diving and all sorts of water sports. If sunbathing on a gorgeous beach isn’t relaxing enough, try a spa (where many treatments incorporate local

ingredients). And if you’re in Poipu for a romantic escape, splurge on an ocean view room—the sunsets are spectacular.Top 12 Kauai AttractionsNa Pali Coast “Unbelievable!”  Waimea Canyon (Waimea) “The Grand Canyon of the Pacific!”  Kalalau Trail “Amazing views”  Kauai Path (Kapaa) “Awesome views, easy trail!”  Polihale State Park (Waimea) “The most beautiful spot on earth!”   Kalalau Lookout “Outstanding view on clear days”   Hanakapiai Falls “Be Prepared for a Tough Hike”  Hanalei Beach (Hanalei) Travelers' Choice™ 2014 Winner BeachesCanyon Trail (Waimea) “Worth the mud!”  Allerton Garden (Poipu) “grand garden experience”  Makawehi Lithified Cliffs (Poipu) “Absolutely worth a stop!”  Poipu Beach Park (Poipu) Travelers' Choice™ 2014 Winner Beaches

About VETS’ MeetingsWhat's different about meetings managed by VETS? At VETS, our motto is our Mission Statement:

Learn, Renew, Explore

Learn We realize that you have a lot of choices when it comes to veterinary continuing education.  At VETS, we think that Learning happens best when you are also able to Renew your energy and Explore your surroundings.

"The Small Meeting . . . Perfected" isn't just a catch phrase.

The organizers of these meetings have attended many hundreds of veterinary seminars across their combined 60+ years in the profession-- from the big box retailers to the small dinner sessions. That’s a lot of on-the-job training and it has helped inform us about what works and what doesn't.  By the end of the conference, we want you to realize what it feels like to "fly first class" at a veterinary CE meeting.

Renew Since we're in a tropical location, dress is casual--no fancy clothes needed.  We like to host one Reception per meeting-- a great chance to meet up with old friends.  Many of the attendees at our meetings are repeaters. Over time, they form friendships that are renewed each meetings. Another "renewing" idea-- we negotiate great deals on your rooms. We work hard to make your CE experience as affordable as it is valuable.

• Half day seminars to enjoy Hawaii's wonderful tropical weather and moderators to make sure we stay on course

• Enrollment limited to maintain small group atmosphere and personal attention • Venue appropriate for families, couples and solo travelers of all ages. • Continued Education that is low key, relaxed, and fun in comfortable surroundings

Explore We have the most civilized schedule on the planet--typically, we provide 4 -5 hours of program each day-- giving you the afternoons off to explore the island, spend real quality time with your family, read a book, or do whatever else you want! We offer excursions that vary by location (advanced sign up recommended) and share the restaurant recommendations and experiences of your fellow attendees as the week goes by.

• Mid week break from lectures to explore the island on your own or book one of the prearranged exciting activities.

• A premier hotel and location in all of Hawaii. •  The town of Poipu is nearby with plenty of shopping and dining options. • Some of the best beaches in the world. • Kauai is diverse with 'undiscovered country', farmland and some amazing waterfalls

and cliffs.• The sunsets are great on our side of the island!

Some of the VETS Meeting advantages:

• Better Learning, By Design:  With a VETS meeting, we keep it simple-- one lecture hall per meeting.  No more running from lecture room to lecture room.

• Chairs set far enough apart to give you some wiggle room. • Wide open lecture halls so you don't feel trapped in a box. • Air conditioning carefully monitored to keep the majority of people comfortable. • Our Exhibit Hall gives you the kind of one-on-one time needed to really get your

questions answered by the various representatives.• Excellent Speakers • Practical information presented for the everyday practitioner • Plenty of opportunity to talk to speakers and discuss your difficult or frustrating cases • Attendees are a great group of friendly people, many who return year after year. This

is a good opportunity to discuss your cases with your colleagues, get inside information on must do activities on the island (ie where is the best snorkeling) and hints for the best local restaurants.

• Syllabus provided free with registration on Flash Drive for those who want to leave room for souvenirs in their suitcase and also available for purchase for a nominal fee for those who prefer to take notes on real paper.

• An evening reception generously sponsored by exhibitors, families welcome. • Option to get Business Practice CE for managers and practice owners in the group

Adventure Travel

Since 2002 we’ve produced adventure travel in partnership with a collaborating travel agent.  We’ve taken (and brought back!) hundreds of colleagues, friends and families to such exotic locations as the Galapagos Islands, Machu Picchu and Peru, whale watching off of Baja California and in the Sea of Cortez, Africa safaris (including Botswana, Namibia, Zambia, Zimbabwe, South Africa, Tanzania, Rwanda, Uganda), and Australia.     While there are a lot of amazing places in the world to see, we feel it is essential that the Adventure Series also provide unique continuing education that is relevant to your practice . . . CE and Adventure-- what a great combination!!

MEETING CANCELLATON POLICY:

Stuff happens, even to good people, and each year there are a number of people requesting refunds due to unexpected cancellations. We understand the need and therefore offer a very generous cancellation policy. However, our small meeting format makes late refunds impossible because our meeting costs become final from 30 to 60 days before the meeting starts.

The policy:

1. Registration fees including meeting extras such as syllabi, optional meetings, family breakfasts, etc., will be refunded in full up to 61 days prior to the first day of the meeting, less a $50 administration fee. Between 60 to 31 days prior to the meeting we will refund 50% of the total registration fees and extras as previously described. From 30 days to the meeting we’re sorry but no refunds are possible.

2. You’ll need to work with our travel partner, Davisville Travel, about refunds for rooms, cars, airfare or other options brokered through them.

3. Please seriously consider travel insurance for those unexpected problems that come up in life. It’s relatively inexpensive and many companies have excellent reputations for refunding travel, hotels, registration and other expenses for covered reasons. Usually insurance must be purchased within a couple of weeks from the date the original reservation/deposit was made. Check with our travel partner, Davisville Travel, for options and rates.
