Friday 26th May 2017 Dear Families,

Term Dates 2017/2018 You will have seen in the last newsletter that we have now published our term dates for the next academic year. Please be aware that there has now been a slight change in when we come back to school in September due to the availability of the trainer who was due to

It outlines what happens during the Breakfast Club, and also has a small registration form which we ask all parents that receive a flyer to complete and return to us if they are planning to continue using the Breakfast Club.

_________________________________________________________________________________ Bounds Green in the sun With the weather getting hotter, please help your child take precautions for sun safety. There is an increase in a number of headaches among our children and whilst we are doing everything we can to encourage them to drink plenty of water, we could really do with your help at home too:

If necessary, please apply sun cream to your child before sending them to school.

If your child suffers with hayfever, please give them their medication before school.

Make sure they wear layers so they can take clothes off if they get too hot.

A sun hat is a great idea.

Please do not send them to school in open-toed shoes as this can be a health and safety risk in the playground.

Always send them to school with a bottle of water.

Collecting from School We have had a huge increase in children being collected late from school. The late room is not something that should be used on a regular basis and oftentimes it is the same group of children left in there at the end of the school day. We understand that from time to time parents get held up for a variety of reasons and we are happy to help where we can, but the regularity that the late room has seen recently is unacceptable. It is your responsibility as parents or carers to collect your children on time.

If your child is not coming to school…

If you feel it necessary to inform the class teacher of the reason your child is not coming to school, please also go and tell the school office.

If you are taking your child out of school for a medical appointment, please provide the school office with a copy of the letter (from the hospital, for example).

If your child is absent from school for an extended period of time (more than a couple of days), please make sure you keep the school updated on their progress and provide the school office with documentation from the appropriate medical professional.

Please do try and notify the school before 9.30am. We’re in need of Summer Clothes Now that Summer is well and truly here we are in need of spare clothes with a summer vibe! If you’re having a clear out and come across anything you are able to donate we would very much appreciate it. We are after shorts and girl’s underwear in particular but we could make use of plenty more. Please bring any donations to the school office where they will be most gratefully received.

Research at Bounds Green We recently had one of our parents conduct some research at Bounds Green for her MA in Early Childhood Studies at UCL. She has asked us to publish the link to an online survey, which she would very much

appreciate if you would complete. The survey is completely anonymous unless you choose to share your identity. Please click the link below (or copy and paste in to your browser to complete. Many thanks.
