Mahatma Gandhi Mission (MGM) was established in 1982 by a

group of professionals with high career profile with commitment towards social cause and determination to accomplish goals. The trust was registered with objectives to cater to the educational needs of the students of Maharashtra in general and Marathwada in particular under the amicable leadership of the founders led by Chairman, Hon. Shri. Kamal Kishore Kadam, Ex-Education Minister, Maharashtra Government. The MGM

Trust was established in Nanded, (Maharashtra) and in the course of time it extended its services to Aurangabad, Navi Mumbai and Parbhani in Maharashtra and Noida (Uttar Pradesh).Under guidance of Shri Ankushraoji Kadam, a visionary, Jawaharlal Nehru Engineering College (JNEC) was established in 1983 to provide technical education to students particularly, to the Marathwada region. In a very short span of time under the leadership of Mr Pratap Borade first principal, JNEC has carved a niche for itself in the arena of technical education.Unique in its structure, methods and goals, the college is strongly rooted in the philosophy of training and research that enhances the relationship between knowledge and its application and seeks to promote the creation of an ideal society. The college also provides facilities for research leading to PhD through its Research Center. JNEC provides a congenial atmosphere for diligent academic pursuits. This has been reflected through the results.The college is affiliated to Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Technological University, Lonere, which confers the degree of Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.), Master of Engineering (M.E.) in various disciplines and Bachelor of Architecture (B. Arch.).

About INSSAN

Indian National Suggestion Schemes’ Association (INSSAN) is a non-profit making registered Association of Industrial and Business organisations, representing a cross section of Indian Industry dedicated

to the promotion of Employee Involvement through Suggestions/ Ideas. Founded on 4th April 1987, INSSAN has a membership of over 550 organizations. Our goal is to help member organizations build Competitiveness and Quality through Employee Involvement, using Suggestion Scheme as an effective medium.

INSSAN achieves its mission by assisting member organizations by:

Collecting and disseminating information, statistics and programme material about Suggestion Schemes.

INSSAN AWARDS & CONTESTS

To recognize Excellence in Suggestion Scheme, INSSAN organizes every year a number of contests at National Level. We firmly believe that success in Suggestion Scheme requires

recognition and encouragement at all levels in the organization to achieve the ultimate goal. Consequently it becomes imperative to recognize the different target groups within the Organization who have a distinct role to play in making the scheme a resounding success. For example, the” Suggestors”, primarily the operatives / men at site, provide inputs to the scheme; the Suggestion Scheme Committee is responsible for overall scheme effectiveness; the Scheme Administrators provide the operational support and finally the Top Management provides the vision, patronage and leadership. The various contests conducted by INSSAN aim to recognise contribution of these distinct groups who are in fact partners in realising the effectiveness of the Suggestion Scheme, front runners of the improvement process.

INSSAN AWARDS FOR EXCELLENCE IN SUGGESTION SCHEME

OBJECTIVE

INSSAN Award for Excellence in Suggestion Scheme is awarded to Organisations, who have achieved highest levels of Employee Involvement and Excellence through Suggestion Scheme performance.

ELIGIBILITY

• All Corporate Members of INSSAN.

• ANNUAL SUBSCRIPTION FOR 2016-17 & 2017-2018 SHOULD HAVE BEEN PAID.

GROUPING

• Member Organisations participating in the contests for the Awards will be grouped into different categories based on the criteria to be determined by an Awards Committee appointed by the Managing Council of INSSAN.

• The grouping is based on the number of entries received. The decision of the Awards Committee is final and binding to all contesting organisations.

• This facilitates evaluation of performance within a comparable group based on certain performance parameters.

AWARDS

Awards are constituted for each group -

• The first prize carries a TROPHY together with a CERTIFICATE of Commendation.

• The Runner-up prize consists of a TROPHY together with a CERTIFICATE of Merit.

• The Awards Committee may consider a CERTIFICATE OF MERIT for the second runner-up.

• Where desirable, a Merit Award may also be considered.

SPECIAL AWARD FOR SERVICE ORGANISATION

• The Awards Committee may consider recommending a Special Award/s to Service Organisations subject to receipt of minimum number of entries.

• For this purpose, service organisation is defined as one that renders service but does not produce a tangible commodity, for example, Banks, Marketing and Sales Organisations etc.

INSSAN AWARDS FOR EXCELLENCE IN SUGGESTION SCHEME

EVALUATION CRITERIA

The Awards Committee will determine the criteria for evaluation.

The performance will be evaluated based on the following principles -

• Factors representing Employee Commitment. e.g. Number of Suggestions received, Number of Employees participating.

• Factors indicating Management Commitment. e.g. Suggestions accepted, implemented, rewarded, benefits shared and processing lead time.

• Results achieved e.g. Savings Realised, Suggestions implemented.

APPLICATION PROCEDURE & OTHER RULES

• Application must be made in the prescribed form (as given on next Page No. 11&12). Incomplete and incorrect applications will be rejected.

• The awards will be determined based on information provided by the applicant. It is the responsibility of the Principal Nominee - member of the Organisation concerned to ensure correctness of information furnished. However, in cases of exceptional data, a visit by the member of the Awards Committee will be made for verification.

• If required, members of the Awards Committee may visit the units of the contestants to acquaint themselves with the Company’s Suggestion Scheme.

• The decision of the Awards Committee is final and binding on the contestants.

• No appeal of whatsoever nature will be entertained with respect to awards given to any Organisation.

• Wherever necessary INSSAN will make use of the information furnished for furthering it’s objectives.

• Member Organisations which have not paid their annual subscription for 2017-18 are also eligible to contest, provided the subscription is paid in full in advance along with the application.

• Non reporting of information in the Application Form, the applicant will not get any evaluation points for those parameters and the Awards Committee may reject the application itself and no communication will be entertained by Awards Committee.

• Only ONE copy of the Organisation’s Suggestion Scheme Manual should be enclosed with the Application for Contests.

• Only the Award winning Organisations will be communicated the result of the contest.

• Each organisations’ contest entry should carry Company’s Name / Email Id and Cell phone number, of the person signing the application.

1. Organisations which have Suggestion Schemes in operation at various locations have an option either to furnish cumulative data for all units put together or for any of the units.

2. Net savings pertaining to the suggestions which were accepted during April 2016 to March 2017 and to be calculated only for the period of ONE YEAR. Rules and guidelines applicable to Slogan, Poster contests are:

1. The entry should be an original work of the Contestant and should not be a copy (either in full or part) of any other publication.

ON THEME “Collaborate, Innovate, Actuate”

The author will have his own personal ideas or opinions on the above theme .The subject must be clearly

defined. It should have his individuality in it. The essay should express his own views and experience. Let

there be a note of sincerity in all that the author writes. The essay should project suitable subject matter,

proper arrangement and adequate power of expression. It should clearly explain the relationships of each

word in the theme given above and it’s collective result which terminates into the expected successes.

Actual examples out of experiments made by author himself should be highlighted and should be part

of the essay. Mere mention of somebody elses’ results or opinions of other’s will not be carrying any

weightage. Author’s own efforts will carry higher weightages. How the innovation is driven and made

part & parcel of system of organisation’s working has to come out clearly from the essay.

BEST POEM CONTEST

• The poem will be with maximum 12 lines or maximum 3 stanzas of 4 lines each.The poem will describe INSSAN / Its activities / usefulness of suggestion scheme to employees or organization.

• It should be neatly handwritten or typed on a A4 size paper.

• The poem should be such that it can be easily made into a Jingle and can be recited with musical accompaniment.

• There will be three prizes-1st, 2nd and 3rd ( for English as well as Hindi language.)

• It should be an original creation of the author.

• Language of the poem-Either English or Hindi.

• It is an individual contest for employees of members of INSSAN and has thus to be certified by the principal nominee as in the case of slogan/poster/essay contests.

• All organizations whichever participate in this 28th NC, will be eligible for this contest. No separate entry is required.

• Participation by their employees as delegate, contestants, will make the organisation’s entry valid in this contest and will attract weightage.

• The prizes will be in the form of trophy and a commendation certificate and the same will be announced and given on 13th January 2018 during the Valedictory Session.

PROCEDURE FOR SUBMISSION

• Papers are invited in English and Hindi on the theme of the Convention:

• The Paper should be an original work of the author / authors based on their own experience and should not describe Suggestion Scheme of the Organisation.

• The author should be able to come out with a plan-how to inspire a culture of innovation in the organization which will address the ever increasing need for innovation capacity of employees.How to have stronger brand culture with employees and customer loyalty.Improved employee engagement with focus on improvement and creating value.Purposeful employee network with ability to collaborate to find solutions faster.

• One hard copy and One Soft copy of the full text and graphics in English or Hindi of the Technical Paper along with the name and designation of the presenter, duly certified and signed by the Principal Nominee to be sent. The Paper in English / Hindi should not exceed 3000 words, and prepared on double space on A4 size paper, should be forwarded before the prescribed date. In addition to the hard copy, one soft copy (CD) of the Technical Paper, should also be sent by E-mail (in MS-Word format). In the case of the Hindi Papers, the font used should be sent on a CD separately.

• Generally each presentation will not exceed Twelve minutes including questions and answers. Actual time for presentation will be announced at the time of Convention.

• Participants may use Computer aided presentation/ projection system.

• All Paper Presenters have to present the paper personally and register as delegates.

• Paper Contest Committee of INSSAN reserves the right to select articles, which are of the requisite standard and in line with the Convention Theme. The copyright of the accepted articles will rest with INSSAN.

• The Papers and Presentations will be evaluated by the Committee to decide on the winners. Such decision will be final and binding on all the contestants.

• Subject to receipt of sufficient number of entries, there will be a dedicated session for presentation.

• The completed paper should be accompanied by an abstract not exceeding 100 words.

Jayakwadi Dam Known to be one of the largest irrigation dams in the entire of Maharashtra and one of the largest earthen dams in Asia, it contributes mainly to irrigation and other agricultural purposes in the Marathwada vicinity which is mainly a drought prone area.Panchakki & Baba Shah Musafir Dargah Panchakki was built to meet up the energy requirement by bringing down the water of a spring in a nearby mountain. An underground conduit feeds the mill with uninterrupted supply

of water, which then descends down to a cistern from a considerable height and produces the required power to operate the mill. Around the mill, you can find the Baba Shah Musafir Dargah, a sprawling garden and several other monuments. It also offers amazing views of the Kham River and the cenotaph of Baba Shah Musafir and a few graves that belongs to his disciples
