ICAR-DMAPR Technologies showcased during Vibrant Gujarat Summit-2015

The ICAR-Directorate of Medicinal and Aromatic

Plants Research (DMAPR), Anand, Gujarat

together with ICAR-Directorate of Knowledge

Management in Agriculture (DKMA), New Delhi

showcased technologies on medicinal and

aromatic plants during 7th Vibrant Gujarat

Summit. ‘Vibrant Gujarat’ is a global summit

organised by Government of Gujarat during 07-

13th January 2015 at Mahatma Mandir,

Gandhinagar, Gujarat. Various technologies on

medicinal and aromatic plants of the Directorate

that are related to cultivation, processing and

utilization of medicinal and aromatic plants were

showcased in the event. Live specimens of herbal

plants and raw drugs were also displayed during

the 7-day event. “Herbal wealth of India”- a video

film on the directorate in English, Hindi and

Guajarati languages was shown to the

gathering of people on this occasion. The

exhibition attracted many dignitaries across

the globe in general. The ministers from

Government of Gujarat, senior officials of

various government organizations and leading

scientists of different disciplines visited the

stall and shown their interest in use of life

saving plants. It was popular among the rural

folks, farmers and students of the schools and

colleges who visited in large numbers,

interacted, discussed and clarified the farm

related queries with the scientists of the

directorate.
