Given the size of the country, small compared to other South America countries. Which makes it easy to get around, all gives a you a unique experience in a short time. This program gives you the chance to climb the two highest of Ecuador, and we’ve put a extra days for acclimatiz- ing on some of the smaller mountains to help with acclimatizing on Cotopaxi and Chimborazo. We will have the chance to visit Quito the capital of Ecuador. The city has a large colonial center and many markets to visit. You can also add other tours onto this program eg Galapagos Islands. PROGRAMDay 1: Airport – Quito (2800m) Transfer to hotel in Quito. Meeting with guide, gear check and welcome dinner. 1 hour drive (D) Hotel 3* Reina Isabel

Day 2: Quito Free day in Quito to explore the sights. (B) Hotel 3* Reina Isabel

Day 3: Quito - Nuevos Horizontes hut, Ilinizas (4650m) From Quito we first have a drive of about 2 hours, to a place called La Virgen. Where we start our trek up to the high Camp. We stay the night in the Nuevos Horizonte hut. Here we will rest and rehydrate for our accent the next day.2 - 3 hours driving, 3 - 4 hours walking (BLD) Refugee

Day 4: Ilinizas hut - Summit Illiniza North Peak (5126m) - Nuevos Horizontes hut - Latacunga (2800m)

We'll get up at the break of dawn have some breakfast and head out for the summit. After some photos and a rest we head back down the same way. Back at the hut we relax a bit in the refuge before we head back down to the trail end. At the end of the trail we take transport to our hotel, which is situated close to Cotopaxi National Park. 7 - 9 hours walking, 1 hour driving (BLD) Hotel 2* Villa De Tacvnga

Day 5: Latacunga - Cotopaxi José Ribas Hut (4800m) We have an easy day today, this means sleeping in a bit this morning. After breakfast we drive to the start of the trail to climb Cotopaxi. The road ends at 4600m, from where we start out hike up to the hut. Trail is on a good path with the mountain in front of us. If we like we can do some exercises on the glacier. In the even we prepare our gear for the ascent the next day. 1 hour driving, 2 - 3 hours walking (BLD) Refugee

Day 6: Refuge - Cotopaxi Summit, Rompe Corazones (5897m) - Cuello de Luna (3215m)

A midnight start our ascent. We will be taking the Rompe Corazones route as this seems to be the better route now. The first part of the trail in on a small path before we reach the glacier. We will need to rope up to cross the glacier. After crossing a few crevasses we'll reach the summit. We head back down the same way to the hut. Here we have a short rest before heading back down to the end of trail, where we meet our transport back to the hotel.10 - 12 hours walking, 1 hour drive (BLD) Hotel 2*

Day 7: Rest day at Cuello de LunaToday we can relax. There’s some activities near the hotel eg biking, horseback riding.

Day 8: Cuello de Luna - Chimborazo high camp, Carrel hut (5000m)We drive south towards Chimborazo, until we reach the start of the trail. A place called Hermanos Carrel refuge (4800 m). From there we'll walk another 45 minutes to the Whymper refuge. We have time to relax and prepare our gear for the very early start tomorrow. NOTE; this route can be different depending conditions on the mountain.2 hours driving, 1 - 2 hours walking (BLD) Refugee

Day 9: Whymper Refuge - Chimborazo Summit (6310m) - Quito We'll get up just before midnight, have some thing to eat and start our climb. Routes can depend on conditions of the mountain which we will decide on the day. It’s a long way navigating through the crevasses. We'll first reach the Veintimilla summit (6270 m) and after a bit more climbing the Whymper summit, the main summit. Same way back down. We’ll have a bit of a rest at the high camp, before we head back down the trail to take our transport back to Quito. Once back in Quito we can shower and have a very well dinner.10 -12 hours walking, 3 hours driving (BLD) Hotel 3*
