OOverlooking the Jinjiang River and famous historical site, Hejiang Pavilion (built during the Tang

Dynasty), the Shangri La Group establishes its first Shangri La Hotel in one of China’s most modern and affluent cities, Chengdu, Sichuan.

Located in the heart of Jinjiang District, the Chengdu Shangri La Hotel opened its doors to the public in December 2007. Featuring its 35 storey hotel complex, 26 service apartments and its adjacent 30 storey office complex, the development is deemed to be a top property in the city of Chengdu.

HBA’s design intention takes inspiration from the heritage and culture of Chengdu and incorporates its elements into the interior design. A combination of the Eastern and Western culture elements are also reflected in its design. Footprints of bamboo and organic patterns can be effortlessly identified throughout the hotel. As guests enter into the hotel, a central waterfall with gold plated metal leaves creates a dramatic effect to the space. Floral patterned rugs in gold and blue tones are implemented to enhance the Oriental touch but yet retaining its elegance and timelessness.

Rich dramatic tones were selec ted throughout the public spaces. Warm champagne and gold colors, marbles and stones sit in dynamic juxtaposition to the contemporary furnishings. The interiors feature a combination of Asian simplicity with art and artifacts. The spacious lobby lounge offers guests an uninterrupted view of the Heijiang Pavilion. The bar area also features a crystal glass drop chandelier and a striking commissioned artwork by a local artist.

Modern advanced technology and high level of function space sets the hotel as a prime destination for events and meetings. With a floor space of 2,100 sq m and accommodating up to 2,500 people for a reception and up to 1,300 people for a banquet, the hotel’s Grand Ballroom is reckoned to be largest in the city. High quality materials and a rich color palette of blue and gold are introduced to warm up the luxurious atmosphere of the Grand Ballroom.

Stone, timber, metal, rich and textured fabrics are principal materials used in the spa and its 11 private treatment suites.

HBA created a variety of luxurious guestrooms and suites to suit the needs of guests.
