ABSTRACT

The development of information communication technologies in the world has had a positive

effect on the education system. Nowadays the effective using network technology in improving

the efficiency of the teaching the science “Informatics and Information Technologies” in the

education system of the country defines insufficieny for pupils to undertake such activities as

receiving, collecting, processing and transmitting information on the subject. There are

individual computers in the informatics training room, management systems which work based

on network, working in separated file server network and single type networks, functional

management of them, and e-learning systems “Moodle”. Using them, the aim is giving

knowledge to the students about practical aspects of the subject in teaching the subject

“Informatics and Information Technologies”, creating the skill to work with software of modern

computers, including with practical and service provider programs, giving general information

about modern information technologies.Therefore, nowadays the need to increase the knowledge

level of students through effectively use new teaching methods in teaching the subject of

“Informatics and Information Technologies” is actual issue. One of the ways to solve this

problem is to organize a classroom lesson based on network technology and create the course

developments. Because, while working on network technology, students will be able to work with

information, to improve their creative, innovative and communicative skills. The students are not

allowed to use ineffectively other programs besides given tasks belong to the theme of the lesson

INTRODUCTION

The program developed by CSR Asia about the role of ICT in education until 2030 is recognized

to increase the quality of education by ICT, encouraging to learn and research of students and

effectively organizing each process in education with ICT are referred9. Intensive development

in the field of ICT radically changes our interactions on the local and international level and how

we treat our place in the world.

Studying the experiences of Iceland, Switzerland, England, South Korea, Japan and China,

which are the leaders by using ICT in the world, and using their effective teaching methods and

technologies play an important role in the training of specialists. The role of foreign languages

and information technologies can not be replaced with anything in exchange of experience with

foreign youth and the academic community, as well as equally communicating with them. In

order to achieve these goals, there is a need for effective use of integration of modern pedagogy

and information technologies in the learning process.

Forming of new competencies directed to use ICT in the educational process has become a major

innovation for the active development of network technology, it affected to approach not only

the evolutionary and educational technology, but also dramatically and considerably changed

views on the forms, methods and content of education in mass and continuous conditions.

Today’s demand is considered to effectively educate students in a short time and control their

knowledge. The phrase “…improving the quality of general secondary education, secondary

special and higher education and developing them envisages to carry out measures” is noted in

the fourth direction called “Development the social field” of the Decree of the President of the

Republic of Uzbekistan, Sh.Mirziyoev “About the strategy for the further development of the

Republic of Uzbekistan”10

. It is clearly shown that it should effectively use modern information

and communication technologies in teaching students on this subject in order to improve the

quality of education. Indeed, a new method of teaching by using modern information and

communication technologies requires our pedagogues to acquire specific experience, in-depth

knowledge, professional skills and abilities in this area. Carrying out wide-ranging use of

methodical and didactic literature in electronic form in the means of produced with modern

information technologies is a demand of today’s necessities. The widespread increase of the

amount of information generates new requirements in the educational process. Using

comfortable means is needed in order to acquire information and effectively and adequately use

them in the educational process. Revolutionary changes which have been happened in society,

lead to the use of technical tools in order to ensure adequately using information in the

educational process.

Nowadays, intensively coming technical tools into educational process gives the task for us in

order to effectively organize the educational process by effectively using them. Although the

educational institutions which work in our country are adequately equipped with technical tools,

the pedagogical staff must improve their skills and abilities by applying with these technical

tools for using them in the educational process. The task for pedagogical staff in educational

institutions is that they should be a responsible person who can flexibly coordinate to the

innovation (changes) which have being happened in the world, work actively with modern

technical tools and explain the concepts to the students.

The development of information and communication technologies (ICTs) gives opportunity to

open new forms of imaginations about information: not only multimedia resources, text, but also

graphical images, animation, sound, videofragments give opportunity to transmit through the

internet network, and to record them into various carriers. Also, the volume of access to

intellectual resources has also increased, new forms of training exercises have appeared.

Opportunities for carrying out the laboratory exercises and virtual seminars have been created.

REVIEW OF LITERATURE

When researches are analyzed by implementing network technologies into the educational

process, Indian scientist M.Segata has conducted several experiments around the world and said

that information technology can influence efficiency and motivation of education. In 1999, a

researcher installed a high-speed Internet-enabled computer on the wall of the house in poor

blocks in New Delhi.

The fundamental knowledge in the field of computer science and offers to teach independently

English language to the children who do not know English language, with this device are given.

The scientist M. Seegata emphasized that after a few moments the children were able to try

independently for moving the cursor and opening their files and searching the information which

need for them in the internet, and they were able to learn independently8.

The research scientist Anders Berglund, made researches on the basis of various methods that

how does the teacher exchange information with students in computer networks2.

The scientist of Cambridge press university, Michael H. Long, conducted empiric research by

teaching languages on the basis of network technology. The information were given in the

research that language learners can show the type of processes and results which will be

happened, by using computer networks in a particular condition6.

The Chinese scientist Haiqing Hu also analyzed the advantages of some educational models in

learning process for studying the theoretical foundations of teaching computer knowledge and

the theory linked with improving the ability to independently study English language skills with

computer network4.

Georgian scientist D.Geladze acknowledged that the use of internet and computer technologies

in the educational process is a powerful means for improving communication between teachers

and students in virtual environments3.

A.M. Anisimov gave opinions in his scientific-methodical works by using the Moodle system

which is one of the open and free-access software, in distance learning, the system interface,

working characteristics of the student in the course, working with information and educational

materials, and the management of the course elements1, while D.S.Lubensov gave attention to

the issues in his research projects to create information-methodical project by the information

science by using distance learning in the Moodle system, and to control the students from

information science5. E.V. Moshkina researched the methodological aspects and analyzed the

followings by using the Moodle system for organizing the learning process in electronic learning

conditions:

Creation and deployment of information about organizing the learning process for foreign

students in the Moodle environment (we traditionally change it into an information space);

Creating the electronic textbooks for students in Moodle environment;

Organizing and implementing learning activities of the student in Moodle environment;

Creating a database of students who are participating in pedagogical research;

Evaluating the effectiveness of the educational activities of students by applying a number of

additional methods;

Analyzing and presenting the results of pedagogical research7.

SIGNIFICANCE/NEED OF THE STUDY

Network technologies can be introduced at different levels into educational processes. In

particular:

The first level can be summarized as follows: The network technologies are given less attention

in lesson, traditional teaching form prevails, and computers are periodically used to view video

presentations, make presentations and conduct tests;

Using network technologies is fully carried out in the second level, and teachers and students

communicate in a lively manner, as they feel themselves in the information space;

communicative issues in coexistence are added; namely, computers play an important role in the

educational process;

The third level offers a unique approach to distance learning or inclusive education only through

using of ICT. Maybe, the direct contact between the trainee and the educated person may not

exist at this level. Education is carried out online, by e-mail or by special sites.

It is possible to carry out interaction in the field of information in training exercises and to

combine traditional, interactive forms of education, to increase ICT knowledge of future

specialists, to help development of ICT efficiency. It will be influenced to the quality of

education that teachers can use the technical equipment in the classroom in teaching the subject

“Informatics and Information Technologies” and use opportunity of the existing network

technology to give the tasks to the students.

However, it should not forget when preparing for training exercises by using network

technologies, the lesson remains the lesson by saving its goals and tasks. That’s why; it is

possible to observe in the lesson process: sequence, systemity, transparency, consistency,

connection of theory and practice, and other main didactic principles. The didactic properties

such as being fully of information, the ability to thoroughly explore the essence of studied

disciplines, as well as, the ability to overcome their existing, temporary and space boundaries

should be included and be understood in training exercises11

.

The teacher must do the followings in order to support the learning process:

– Creating the curriculum by using network technologies in the graph of learning process;

– Managing coordination of educational activities and their guidance, as well as the activity of

learners;

– Individually working with students, individually involving each student into the education

process;

– Doing functions such as choosing software products and others, the educational-methodical

support.

Wide functionality of network technologies, at all stages of educational process they are based

on with:

– creating presentations while teaching the new theme, introducing them with the educational

sites relevant to theme and others;

– the computer directly serves as an instrument for exchanging and saving information,

communication means, equipment for creating projects, tool for others in the learning

process;

– In the stage of strengthening passed theme, as well as in the stages of creating learning

materials of intermediate and final controls, in the stages of preparing test tasks, writing of

electronic messages (e-mails), in the stages of creation of multimedia files;

– Existence of the abilities to fill or create test tasks, crosswords, or to work with diagrams,

tables, audio and video materials in the repetition stage, the ability to practically use them.

OBJECTIVES AND HYPOTHESES

Teaching the subject “Informatics and IT” by using the network technology is considered the

best way, because software and technical supports which have been studied in the science, have

rapidly developed. It is possible to carry out interaction in the field of information in training

exercises and to combine traditional, interactive forms of education, to increase ICT knowledge

of future specialists, to help development of ICT efficiency.

The didactic properties

such as being fully of information, the ability to thoroughly explore the essence of studied

disciplines, as well as, the ability to overcome their existing, temporary and space boundaries

should be included and be explained in training exercises.

The teacher must do the followings in order to support the learning process:

– Creating the curriculum by using network technologies in the graph of learning process;

– Managing coordination of educational activities and their guidance, as well as the activity of

learners;

– Individually working with students, individually involving each student into the education

– Doing functions such as choosing software products and others, the educational-methodical

support.

Wide functionality of network technologies, at all stages of educational process they are

based on with the followings:

– creating presentations while teaching the new theme, introducing them with the educational

sites relevant to theme and others;

– Existence of the abilities to fill or create test tasks, crosswords, or to work with diagrams,

tables, audio and video materials in the repetition stage, the ability to practically use them.

With using local networks in teaching process may be saturated characters to receive information

and transmit them to the students in the group, to analyze the results of the exchange of

information between students, to develop the hypotheses and to create the ideas, to make

decisions while solving collaboratively tasks of modeling the objects, and others in activity

processes.

Using local networks in teaching process is considered the method of using modern technical

tools in the learning process. It should be noted that the computer is considered a personal

component for each student in education. It gives opportunity to mutually exchange information

among students.

The following aspects of the learning process are provided by the local network:

– ensuring the uniformity of information materials and primary technical equipments for all

students;

– launching curriculums from the computer at the workplace of students;

– increasing the reliability of saving information on computer, giving students a solid clear

memory space for working;

– By writing the results on the computer - server database in sequence and by reproducing

software as appropriate when needed;

– Organizing tests on computer (by the educational subjects);

– Using of students computer games and doing independent works with students on the basis of

learning materials on the computer - server;

– Updating of teacher the data on the central computer when needed (if there is not Internet

network in some regions, an intranet network will being created and updated all the

information belong to the subject).

In the practical lesson can be seen to take information in different form by the global network,

including searching the answers to questions belong to the theme by the global network for

students, and to show existing web pages.

The following requirement should be follow in doing practical exercises through network

technology in order to enhance students’ knowledge, skills and abilities from the subject

Informatics and IT”, to improve their creative abilities:

– Explaining clearly and exactly the purpose of given tasks to the students by the network

technology, teaching the context and its working ways;

– Giving practical exercises by the network technology to the attention of the students taking

into account the intentions and interests of the students on the computer and each client in the

group;

– Having definitely system and consistency of given tasks by network;

– Using easily to do certain rules in practical exercises from the subject “Informatics and IT”

and other tasks in this context;

– Having of the task the requirement to ensure active action of the student and to do within the

prescribed time limit.

RESEARCH METHODOLOGY

The interests of students belong to the subject will be increased by using the network

technologies in organizing efficient teaching of training exercises from the subject “Informatics

and IT”. In particular, it is possible to provide students’ access to the local electronic data from

the host computer in the computer class computer, to control them and to use pedagogical

technologies.

The learning process may be organized by using file server, proxy-server, and management

network services in network technology-enabled computer classes. For example, a file-server

network has a number of opportunities in the learning process, and students can use the database

in separated server by client computers. The teacher uses the server computer for communication

opportunities with the client computer through network software.

Teacher (Host computer) – the students take information about the theme from the server

through the local area network. If the teacher is located on the host computer then the computer

of the teacher will have a basic gateway address in this room. For example, it will be TCP / IP

192.168.0.1 (Transmission Control Protocol / Internet Protocol).

The student (1 - client computer) - the student will enter to the “Network” (Сетевое

окружение) of the Windows OS or “Выполнить” command (“Выполнить”) of the “Пуск”

menu (“Пуск”) with helping his computer, will enter the following address \\192.168.0.1 TCP/IP

into the address (Адрес) row. Then the specified folder will appear on the screen. Using it, a

student will work with information belong to the theme.

The student (1 - client computer) - The student may also receive information given by the

teacher, referring to either the host computer which is the main gateway, or opposite computer (1

- client computer) of next to the computer.

Other students using the TCP / IP address by the local area network will also receive and use the

data during the lesson. Also, it is also possible to monitor the students through the local area

network, to give individual tasks to the students, and to exchange information through the

network.

Also, teaching method using interactive teaching materials in the course of teaching “Informatics

and information technologies” on the basis of “Moodle” system can be sample for this. The on-

line course created for the subject “Informatics and information technologies” in the “Moodle”

system includes the interactive educational materials by lectures and practical lessons in the form

page, presentation, questionnaire, chat, forum, tasks, Wike, database, audio and video lessons,

test and other forms. The teacher controls carrying out the tasks of the students. This system

serves to provide interactive communication among the participants of the learning process.

RESULTS AND DISCUSSION

The effectiveness of pedagogical experimental-testing works has been provided with

mathematical and statistical analyzes of taken results by created criteria and special program

during the research work, the geographical location of experimental-testing areas, and

elaboration of pedagogical conditions, creating quality criteria.

The content of the teaching materials on the use of network technology in teaching themes from the

subject “Informatics and information technologies”, the structure of the course development

created on the use of network technology, the didactic means of teaching the subject “Informatics

and information technologies” on the basis of the network technology services and methodology of

using them have been created and applied to the learning process in practice. Also, test questions

were created on the basis of network technologies in the “Moodle” system by controlling the

knowledge of the students by the subject “Informatics and information technologies” and tested the

knowledge of the students.

The special criteria have been developed for evaluating the knowledge of the students from the

subject of “Informatics and information technologies” based on network technology. While doing

the experimental-testing works, it is positively confirmed that the students achieve the positive

results by using network technology and by using the “Student criterion” of mathematical

statistics in teaching of the subject “Informatics and Information Technologies”.
